Good stuff Matt.
Not shocked about Hanson at all. Been saying for some time he is a liability. However, his boss has to be accountable as well.
The fact we have no backup plan for Patterson is totally unacceptable in my book. The "all eggs in one basket" approach is not working. I felt Moses was now the must get and it looks to be so. We CANNOT strike out on Patterson and Moses.
Interesting stuff on Jai. Not many here will agree with you on this one, but I think more than one recruit has waffled because of this.

The "run Tubby out of town if we repeat last year" stuff?
Or the "we stunk last year and need to improve" stuff?

What I gathered from reading his post on Patterson is that we are now not the leader and do not seem to think the odds are in our favor anymore. Anyone else get that?

Does it matter?
It is obvious some of these recruits are wondering about his tenure, regardless as to why. You don't think others are using that against us?
(And before the usual suspects get on here to harp about "another blame the fans" post, that is not what I meant.)
There are all kinds of perceptions surrounding this program: We are no longer elite, TubbyBall is boring, Tubby has another season like last year and he will be gone, idiotic ads to oust him before the season, etc.... Some of these "perceptions" can be attributed to the coach himslef for sure, but some are driven by radicl fans who have a louder voice than given credit for, IMO.

Fair enough. Just as long as we recognize that 13 losses (many of them ugly) affects recruiting as much (or more) than the off-court stuff. The Final Four Drought speaks just as loudly as the Cheeks Ad.

I disagree - the ad by a few of our "Dynasty Defenders" stands out more because of the bizarre nature of it.

I likewise disagree that the Final Four drought hurtsas muchas the DD ad.As kids who play on basketball teams themselves, the recruitsfully realize how ONE bounce, one shot, one rebound, etc. can so often be the difference in winning and losing. They are far more understanding than fans inthat regard.
Those recruits KNOW that UK barely missed a Final Four three years under Tubby (twice by one bounce or basket or whatever, and once when their "star" player had toplay injured, something else youngbasketball playerscan relate to better than fans). They see a coach who had two straight top overall seeds in recent years and won all the national Coach of the Yearawards. They have expressed favorable feelings toward Coach Smith himself and concern about his being forced out or no longer being here.AsI see it, it is logical thata "bizarre" DD addowning Tubby (a coach they respect) and expressing the desire for him tobe fired would be far moredamaging to our basketball recruiting.

By the way, if it's true Lucas decided on Kentucky and now wants to watch the season pan out, all power to him. I think we'll meet or surpass all of his expectations.
