The thread was closed before I was able to post there. TrueblueCATfan, who had started the thread herself, explained that her post was being misunderstood and wanted the thread closed, which later happened.

Hopefully someone will post the link to what Coach Brooks actually said (one of the articles on the home page). Coach Brooks is unhappy that some fans are NOT showing up and supporting this bowl-bound team. He is taking up for his players, something commendable. In the article Coach Brooks PRAISES the UK fans who DO have their "fannies" in the stands, thanking those 50,000+ because of their support.

May someone PLEASE post what Coach BrooksACTUALLY said.I had read the article with Coach Brooks' comments. When I had read the title of the thread, I knewsome were going to think, mistakingly,Coach Brooks was putting down UK fans. It wasjust the opposite. He was standing up for his players AND praising the ones ofus whoDO support them, but NOT the UK "fans" who refuse to show up.

Could an administrator please delete theentire thread that has now been closed?Otherwise, many are going to continue toread the thread's title and wrongly think thatCoach Brooks was "bashing" UK fans and have still another reason to "hate" him and spout still more negativity about this UK football team's accomplishments. :(

Some asked that Coach Brooks just win (and it was actually only SIX games that he needed to win). He has WON. We are going bowling. The negativity at such a wonderful time continues. :(Coach Brooks himself was only reacting to that negativity that is keeping too many UK fans away, which is causing his players NOT to witness the support and appreciation they deserve.

Most of all, again, could someone please provide the link, so that Brooks' ACTUAL statement about us fanscan be viewed by UK football fans? GO CATS! BEAT UT!

Also, in the "Blue Zone" section of last week's Cats' Pause, the following is said about Coach Brooks after our victory over Vanderbilt:

"There were a host of Cats that had a sensational day--take a bow Andre Woodson, Keenan Burton, Jeremy Jarmon, and E.J. Adams--but you have to gvie credit where credit is due and tip your cap to UK coach Rich Brooks. The man who has faced a FIRING SQUAD for the better part of four seson finally got his moment in the sun by staying the course and doing things the RIGHT WAy. True to form, Brooks handled it with CLASS and HUMILITY."

I shared that quote as those were not quite the descriptions of our head coach that I read on another thread. :)Too, Coach Brooks has indeed faced that "firing squad," one made up of some of our media and some of our fans. Coach Brooks did NOT bash us fans who are going to the games and supporting his players (and the poster herselfclarified that she hadNOT meant thatCoach Brookswas not happy with us fans who choose to go to Commonwealth). Some of our fans, though, have both bashed Coach Brooks in the pastandare stillbashing him today. Just think about that for a moment.:)GO CATS! BEAT UT!

poodoo, if it was reported that Coach Brooks wished someone a happy Thanksgiving, a few of our posters would make it into a character flaw.
