OK, maybe 3.

I was actually pretty pleased with our play overall in the first half and the beginning of the second half, but it was kind of disconscerting to be generally playing well and then being subject to lead "creep" as even while we played well they kept creeping out to these 3-5 point leads, the scoreboard seemed to always surprise me in the first half.

Don't know if it was planned or accidental but it appeared memphis was not going to allow us any clean shots on any drive to the basket at any time. It worked very well as often our players were not able to deliver the ball to the hoop and then we weren't very sharp on free throws.

Our conservative, though effective attack needed to be opened sooner than it was. Our leads were continually erased or eroded quickly by the 3 pt attack going up against us. They never were made to sweat or even think about sweating. That is bad to let 3 pt shooters relax like that. We were juking around and working to get a 2 or draw a foul inside, while they were basically taking physical vacations by going down and shooting a relaxed 3 or next time a full length layup or if the first three didn't hit, taking another one the next time. High percentage 2's never beat a team that is shooting high percentage 3's.

Where was all that conditioning everyone claims the team is getting. We looked drugged the second half.

Morris at some point in this game needed to hack somebody clean off that dang glass. Have we decided as a team to give up the free layup or the free layup with the foul now instead of creaming the guy, or breaking his wrists and at least making him shoot for two instead of shooting for three. I got sick of that stuff and the hands penalties. Not to live in thepast, but Chuck and ED wouldn't generally give those up. Some of our players are playing way too clean. If they were on the football field their jersey wouldn't be muddied(Thomas). There are timesyou need to be the car crash dummy underneath.

Tubby admitted after the game the team was tired. I think you've given a fair analysis of the game. Its just one game and we have to be patient, but it's becoming more and more obvious we have to lower our expectations for the time being and wait for these four special freshmen to become seasoned vets. Give it 15 games and I bet two of them are starting.
