Mark Few, Gonzaga head coach, knows how to win. He loses Adam Morrison, Mr. Everything, and beats UNC. I am suprised a bigger program hasn't snatched this guy up.

He sure has done a heck of a job with the 'Zags, that's for sure. I imagine he'll have more offers than he can count if he ever decides to leave.

I liked what somebody said about the Zags: They don't rebuild, they reload. Few is a really good coach.

Imagine if he ever learns to win in the NCAA tournament.

They use to say that about UK.....

Few is one of the coaches that doesn't get the credit he deserves. Same thing with Tom Crean. Both would be great choices if Tubby moves on.

Few has made a national name out of Gonzaga. I'm also suprised he hasn't made the move to a big-time program.

Few is obviously very happy where he is. Quality of life means different things to different people and I can't see Few leaving Gonzaga anytime soon.

I thought I read somewhere that Few said the only way he would leave Gonzaga is if a big name program came calling. I think he is an absolutely great coach. I love the style of ball they play.

Few has gone on record as saying he does not want to leave the Zags. Money talks though. Rumors are already flying about Tubby coaching the Bobcats.

funny thing is I was just thinking of Mark Few before I logged on here and here is a post about him. Didn't somebody try to snag him a year or two ago and he said he was happy where he was? However, I think if UK came calling, he would be very happy for the invite. I mean, wouldn't you like to double or triple your salary instantly, I would. I'm sure he knows what Kentucky basketball means to this area.

If he can get these guys that nobody has ever heard of and make them play like they do, can you imagine what he could do with actual talented players that WOULD come here if he came himself. I'm not a Tubby basher, however, I think sometimes change is good for everybody involved. Right now, I think our program needs a change in attitude, culture, and just an overall refurbishing to get us back to where we need to be. I think that man could do it and would have all the fire inside him while he's doing it. People in Kentucky aren't any better than any other people, however, basketball is a different story. It's not deserving for our fans to have to look in the newspaper on Sunday and see our #1 all time program as being the 4th best SEC team in the top 25, and probably won't even be in the top 25 next time....this is complete b.s.

I think it's obvious that we are lacking at the #4 position for sure, but who's fault is that??? It's not mine. However, we have good enough talent that if Tubby is any kind of coach at all, he will QUICKLY mend these fundamental flaws that our team has and we will look like a completely different squad almost immediately (not blocking out, not helping teammates on defense, etc.---things I learned in the fifth grade). If we don't look like a completely different team by mid-season I really think that a move has to be made. I know Tubby is a good guy and all that, but look what's at stake here, our basketball image that we've took 100+ years to build...

I've been pretty p-o'd several times the past 4 or 5 years and prematurely thought "we need to get rid of Tubby". However, I usually calm down and say things like "it takes time", or "the freshmen need a little more experience", or "it's still early in the year". I've thought all these the past few days and this timeI'm really thinking differently, my p-o'd ness isn't subsiding so easily. Our freshmen are now juniors and we have some great looking freshmen, I don't know what happened to recruiting last year, but we haven't went anywhere. We're still spinning in the mud.

He has plenty of time to fix this. Like I said, I know we're lacking in the #4 position, but we have plenty of good players to go somewhere around 25-5 or 24-6 before the tournaments start. Then we should at least get to the elite 8 where it starts turning into anybody's ballgame. If we don't, I'm sorry to say it but

it's been good knowing you Tubby, but ADIOS----------------------

Please tell us more about the rumor. Is this something on the talk shows or is it coming from a credible source? I think Tubby Smith would be a heck of a lot better in the NBA.

I think Mark Few would be a good choice. Tubby needs to move on, I think he is a very good coach, but not a good fit for our program.

My second favorite team. The Zagsdon't use injuries or graduation as excuses, they just win and play the best brand of team ball in the country.....

Gotta agree with Stretch here. I think the guy retires from Zags.

I think Few is an excellent coach. He doesn't get the 5 star recruits we clamor for. But then again, he doesn't play the schedule most years that we do. However, he makes the most out of what he has and that is a sign of a good coach. They are competive in most games, regardless of opponents.

Give Few a couple of studs that UNC gets and he wins it all, IMO.

Good Lord. How many times are they going to keep this going? It seems every year it is Tubby to the Bobcats. By the time they actually get around to it, OTS will be retired.

I love Few, but it is a long way to Major Program Success. The coach that started Gonzaga's great run was Dan Munsen not Few,He left for Minnesota where he is still struggling very much,( They were Defeated by MARIST today by about 10 points) it is alot easier today to build a program in a smaller conference than to compete in a major one. That being said ,they alreadyhave a nice Recruiting class and they have a couple of Big time transfers sitting out .Few is a great Salesman in my opinion, Because Spokane will not be confused with Hollywood.

I've seen some thoughts that Crean is an excellent coach who is ready for the Big Time.

Anybody know much about him (other than he recruited Dwayne Wade)?

I don't believe rumors are flying. That was two years ago, not recently. If you have some links to back up your statements, please give them.

Is the coach at Butler the same guy that coached there when they beat UL in the NCAA tourney a few years back?

I don't really need to justify anything to you or anyone else. Believe what you want. I mean they only discuss Bernie stepping down every day on talk radio here and Tubby's name always gets thrown in. But other than that, it never gets brought up...

What do ya know, Aike? Here we have a coach that wins a bunch of games (against patsies) during the regular season - gets to the Tournament - and flames out. Usually in an upset. (He being the team that's getting upset, that is.) But....he's a genius.

We have a coach that, when doing the same thing, is a bum. Go figure.

And lest we not forget - Few is NOT the coach that put them on the map. The guy at Minnesota is the one that got them to the Final Four a few years back - thus starting the love fest for Gonzaga.

Few's good - yeah - but he ain't in no class by himself.

So it's the radio Mr. Snippy? That's fine. Usually peoplewant to validate their points with supporting material, but that's entirely up to you.
