Great get from LaGrange but the jury will be out for awhile on his grades. While he might not be here next fall, this is one kid the staff will follow up on and bring here eventually if possible.

Very, Very Big News. I like that (solid verbal) behind his name.

Staford has eight months to work on his grades and scores. His buddies from LaGrange all said he would be a Cat. :thumbup:wildcatface:ggrin:.

Maybe they told him how good WildcatRick's chili was. :ggrin:

His bio states he has a 3.0 GPA. When did we become Harvard?

Beating UGA sure has its' benefits.

It's kind of funny. I guess we have all read on a few message boards that he may have grade issues and soon enough part of his story is that he has grade issues.

I really have zero idea about Mr. Stafford's academic status. I hope the 3.0 gpa is true and I hope his core classes and grades are all in order.

A few of use were fortunate enough to talk to a few of the Grangers players and players moms after the game last weekend. The players from LaGrange Georgia come very well prepared to play big time football. They are also a very tight community. Their coach Steve Pardue who has 108 wins against 24 losses since 1994 is already a legend.

On the Kentucky Scout web site, he states that he is a soft verbal and will still visit Auburn & Georgia. I hope he sticks with his commitment with UK. Our defense needs all of the help it can get.

I agree. If he stays, it might be the biggest recruiting achievementof the Brooks' era, given his ranking and the fact that he does not play HS ball in Kentucky.

Two things.

One, here is another soft commitment. Not sure that means much now.

Two. He can have a 3.0 and still be lacking in the core classes he needs for admission to college.

It may be "soft," but his words about the team and Joker are good.

I read JDrums personal interview with him and his direct words sounded as strong a commit for UK as I could want.

The soft story is comming from a ATLguy with maybe an agenda.

Not to worry - this kid is ours to lose.

He was on the UGA sideline yesterday watching Reggie "The Human Horselaugh Film" Ball urinate away yet another chance to beat Georgia.

The AJC does not want to or cannot believe the commitment:

High school stars cram the sideline

Georgia's sideline was jam-packed with recruits, including 6-foot-8, 345-pound offensive tackle Vince Vance, who made the trip with Georgia Military College teammates Corvey Irvin and Jarius Wynn.

Other uncommitted prospects on hand: Joe Blaes of Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College; receiver Joseph Hills of Palmetto (Fla.) High; defensive end Miguel Chavis of Virginia's Hargrave Military Academy; safety Morgan Burnett of North Clayton; defensive tackle Cameron Heyward of Peachtree Ridge; and defensive end D.J. Stafford of LaGrange. (Emphasis added)

I have been so hoping that DJ Stafford, still another LaGrange guy, would commit to the Cats. Here's hoping this commitment sticks AND that DJ suits up for the Cats in the fall. Getting a four-star commitment from a defensive end is welcomed news, for sure! :)
