I don't understand how someone that doesn't enroll till Jan can practice for a Dec bowl.

Probably the same way Harris can begin practice with the basketball Cats after the end of this semester.

Or the way incoming freshmen can practice in August prior to the start of the fall semester.

So is he a walkon or has he qualified?Thought you had to be enrolled to practice.The kids in August are in Summer school therefore enrolled!Harris will be enrolled.Help!

Not necessarily. Not all kids are in summer school.

You can enroll prior to the beginning of a semester. We also have one scholarship remaining from this year's 25 (Cessna is promised one in January that would be retroactive to last year's). Boswell could conceivably get that schollie while Cessna would get one in January and be counted on next year's limit of 25. Who knows. Probably much ado about nothing. Even if the kid gets to practice, if he participates in the Bowl game he'll lose this whole year of eligibility.

I assumed that the point was that he could start practicing and get used to the system. It never crossed my mind that this meant he could, or would, play in the bowl. That would be stupidity personified.

I understand Cessna is in school such that if he got a scholarship that counts for next year he'd owe tuition for this semester. Can't figure that if we have a scholarship for 06 & it's promised to Cessna why he just doesn't have it.

Well this one is strange to me as well as we had one schollie left and it was explained that Cessna was to join the team in January. Just looked him up on the student directory and there is a Chris Cessna listed so I am now totally confused as he is not listed on the football roster (which I knew). There's no upside to his being enrolled and not participating as the clock is ticking. Oh well, it's not for me to understand at this time but not knowing his status kind'a bugs me.

I think he still needs to qualify. I think he was just setting forth the most positive scenario.
