Jasper is a keeper. I like everything about this kid, including his leadership ability to take over the team and lead the UCLA comeback as a freshman. We might be better off by having Ramel come off the bench ala The Microwave, Vinnie Johnson.
Everything I saw live, leads me to believe the errors are all correctable. Namely stop Crawford and Bradley from incessant dribbling. If practice or torture can turn our juniors into catch-and-shoot players, we'll score at will! Morris included. One person simply can’t stop him. FEED HIM THE DAMN BALL!
That said this team is NOT any better at transition defense than last year. This is a major concern but again correctable with more hustle getting back on ‘D’. Stevenson looked like a deer in the headlights but I forecast a leaping, running, darting young buck before long.
Luckily every team isn’t as athletic as Memphis. This is our worst matchup at the present time IMHO. Yes the UNC, Florida, Alabama games loom large but 3 of these occur after New Years Day. We’ll be better then.
I love Maui. The Blue Mist flew over in numbers and we nearly stole the game from #5 UCLA. Wish you all were there to share the laid back lifestyle.
