Great news. The disappointment of a couple of hours ago is fading away. The future is bright and I can't wait for the 2007 season to arrive.

At my age, I need to be careful about wishing the days to fly by but I love football and I love to win.

At my age,

Hell, at our age, we don't even buy bananas that aren't ripe yet......:D

This is really awesome news. Is it looking like this year's class will equal or surpass last year's as far as quality?

BTW, welcome Mr. Bailey. You're going to look great in blue...and in the opponents backfield;)

Do you think he is recruited as a safety or as a LBer (with a redshirt season to add strength and weight), like Woodyard?

As I understand it he is recruited as a linebacker and is very much in the Wesley Woodyard mold as is the kid from South Carolina. Imagine that. The only thing better than watching Wesley Wodyard play footbal would be watching two Wesley Woodyards play.

Bailey will be a safety and Thompson will be a WLB - I think. ;)

From what I've read, Bailey has stepped up as the big play guy this year for the Grangers. The thing that has got him there other than coaching and attitude is speed.

It issaid that he ran a 4.37 at the Granger equivilent of 'pro-day'. It was hand timed and we all know that time is super human. But the fact is he is Fast, good sized and has the LaGrange coaching and attitude.

His team is like 12-0, has had 60 points scored on them all year and has like four shut outs.

In another few weeks or maybe days just watch. The biggies will start going after him. Just like Staford. he will be a Cat.

Oh, and just like Westley, Braxton and Pryor, he is going to knock some people out.

Thompson?

I know that Brandon Thurmond will probably play LBer behind Woodyard, but my brain is not functioning well enough to remember Thompson? Is this a prediction about a recruit to come?

I see Bailey lining up at SS for us as well.

Great news to get both Bailey and DJ if commitments hold!!

These announcement came quickly after the Grangers got knocked out of the State playoffs by the defending champs:

PEACH COUNTY 24, LAGRANGE 7: Bevy of turnovers ends season for Grangers
By Rob Morton (mailto:rtmorton@ajc.com)
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Published on: 11/25/06

... Peach countered and marched to the LaGrange 1-yard line, but Ellis' sneak ended in a fumble in the end zone which Mychal Bailey recovered. Riding the momentum change, the Grangers reached Peach's 38, but senior linebacker Terrance Hatcher pounced on yet another fumble. That ended all LaGrange hopes.

"Whenever you talk about the important things of a big game, you always talk about turnovers," LaGrange coach Steve Pardue said. "And it was tonight. But they about let us back in themselves."

Check out this block by Bailey. It's reported the kid he hit had to have his spleen removed. :(

I liked watching the block, but the link seems to glorify the fact that the kid was injured. It is a classless act to celebratewhen a kid gets injured, no matter what team he plays on.

Welcome, Mr. Bailey! Too, let's keep that LaGrange pipeline flowing to Lexington. I also agree with trublue4life that just about the only thing better than watching Wesley Woodyard play defense would be watching two Wesley Woodyards on the field. :)
