Actually they didn't. The game was actually dominated by Wake the first three quarters. Some freakish things happened late in that game. The Spiller run and then a crazy int or something. I watched it and was rooting for Wake.

Well, yardage-wise, Clemson certainly dominated (although only winning by ten points).Clemson's outgaining Wake Forest 428 yards to 219 yards is both impressive (essentially doublingWake's total yardage)and scary, especially since Wake is playing in a BCS bowl. That Clemson's performance was on the road makes it even more impressive (and it seems to me that the interceptions must have played a role in Wake's staying as close as it did). Of course, that justmeans if we can beat Clemson, the win is that much more impressive for the Cats. :)GO CATS!

It was not handidly. I watched that game in person. It was, as others have pointed out, a crazy ending.
I have maintained in several posts, that Wake is the most overrated team in the ENTIRE country. I posted their schedule, so I will not repeat it again, but they beat nobody this year.
Similarly, Clemson beat nobody that impresses me.

Yardage for Wake was screwed up due to field position and Clemson turnovers. Either way it will be an interesting matchup. Clemson is fast and athletic, but we can score with anyone.

You're right. Wake was kicking a FG to go up by 17 and Clemson blocked it and ran it back for a TD to cut it to 7. Wake imploded after that

Yea I felt that Clemson had a pretty good season, really surprised to see them fall to the MCB.... Their usually a contender each year....I was also surprised to see that Clemson only has a little over 15K students..not very many

Although Clemson is a proud program with a pretty good team this year, they really aren't a "contender each year." In the 70s through mid 80s they were a national power (National Championship in '81), but they have slid into mediocrity since. They have just now gotten to the point where they can challenge for an ACC divisional title, and they haven't made a splash nationally in years and years. They've scored a few big wins over FSU recently (not coincidentally, as FSU has started to tank nationally), but they really aren't the program Clemson fans think they are, particularly compared to other traditional southern football teams. Collin Cowherd rails on the fantasies of Clemson fans all the time.
All of this is not to say that they aren't a good program and a good team this year (they have been getting much more competitive the last five years or so); it's simply to say that being in the Music City Bowl is actually about average for Clemson.

Well, while the discussion is divided on whether or not Clemson beat Wake Forest "handily," I don't think anyone would disagree that Clemson beat Georgia Tech "handily." Clemson beat Georgia Tech (a team that Georgia barely defeated)by 24 points.
I certainly respect our opponent in the bowl game.Having said that, I also think we CAN win the game, but only IF we play VERY WELL. I would love to see our defense play as it did against UT and our offense march up and down the field as it did against Tennessee, BUT ALSO on into the end zone. :)GO CATS!

For comparative purposes, although the South Carolina - Clemson game was close score-wise, it REALLY wasn't that close. Aside from Spiller's long run, one long pass, and a freekish interception for a TD, Carolina absolutely dominated Clemson, and it was through the air. Despite 3 first-half interceptions, Mitchell looked like a Heisman candidate against 'em. They've got 2 running studs in Davis & Spiller, but their achilles heel is senior QB Proctor. Hopefully, we can pressure him into making mistakes. This game is absolutely winable!
