What are we going to do with all these running backs if Anderson comes. We will have Little, Dixon, Smith, Moncel Allen, andDemetrius Goode plus Victor Anderson. We'd need to red shirt the freshman, and hopefully none of them look to transfer due to lack of playing time.

I'll take a great player anyday. RB is a position that can turn very quickly on a single play. A team could easily lose two in one game, from freak plays.

I agree, but I think we would probably be looking at Alfonso Smith transfering, especially if M. Allen and D. Goode are as good as they are supposed to be. Goode is ranked as a 4 star running back recruit.

I've asked that question a lot myself & keep being told they'll play elsewhere like LB or DB. But haven't seen that happen yet. If anything, it's gone other way with Dixon & Grinter.

This should not be a concern.
First, as this season has proven, you really need three top-notch running backs. We will have that in Little, Dixon and Smith. Goode and Allen will only be freshman, and Anderson would likely redshirt.
The following year, Little and Dixon graduate. That leaves 4 guys running for the three-man rotation. And, it is always possible that someone like Allen could move to fullback or someone like Smith could become a reciever.
Besides, top notch athletes do not shy away from competition.
It'll be OK.

Exactly. You can't sign too many top notch athletes. As long as they want to come, we can make room for them. Besides, our running backs are in different classes and all good programs have talent in all classes. We are getting there.
Let's see who actually gets on campus before we start wringing our hands. :?

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. These guys still have to prove themselves on the SEC level. With Smith's upside, I don't see him going anywhere. Allen, Goode, and/or Anderson would have to be special to takeaway from Smith's playing time the next 3 years. Personally, I don't see any of the incoming freshmen getting significant playing time on offense until their junior year.

I agree that our chances of landing Anderson probably went down when West Virginia's coach did not leave for Alabama. :(

R Rod is going nowhere. The only thing that may change VA's mind is the redshirt tailback that is supposed to be as good or better than Slayton.

Louisville running back Victor Anderson became the latest top Southern prospect to announce his college choice, picking West Virginia.

not so fast my friend...my sources say he's stayingin da ville. Also, Martin is 99% done as well....With Willy Williams,Woodny Turenne,Martin and Boaumont in the fold this might be the best recruiting class in UofL history. Simms would just be icing on the cake later this week.

I agree, Caveman. Unfortunately, that is not a good thing for UK. As soon as I had listened to Coach Krag and read about him, I was most concerned that Louisville's recruiting would now improve. That happened, almost instantly. :(
Too, because of the Durham situation, I had felt that UK had gained an advantage in recruting within the state. For that reason, as I had posted, I was not totally thrilled with Petrino's leaving Louisville.
Ironically, while I think Tom Jurich is a fine athletic director who deserves credit for some of his moves, I say again that I think the man is a mighty lucky fellow. How many other athletic directors who loses his head coach in the middle of a bowl game comes out smelling like a rose since neither Michael Bush nor Brian Brohm would have, according to some, havesigned withLouisville if John L had still been the coach! Then Jurich had a talented former Louisville assistant wanting to return to Louisville.
Now offensive genius, successful Coach Petrino leaves after having vowed loyalty to Louisville (still again :)), and a friend of Jurich's, a talented impressive coach, is waiting in the wings. Again, I give Jurich a lot of credit, BUT the man is still a lucky man in my book, based on those scenarios.
By the way, I like and respect Coach Krag from everything I have seen and read. My concern is that his recruiting success will make it harder for us to beat Louisville. Yes, as a Cat fan, I want to BEAT THE CARDS, along with our other opponents! :)GO CATS!
