Darn good article. Thank you for posting it. I was critical of him when he first got here, but I will be the first to say that Barnhart has won me over, big time.

Mitch Barnhart bases his life and life's decisions on prayer and faith. He cannot and will not go wrong or make the wrong decision(s) when he asks for and receives the answer form the good Lord. I feel at ease now that Mr. Barnhart will ensure that the decisions he makes while he is leading the University of Kentucky are meant to be from the good Lord above. What an enlightening and uplifting story filled with examples of life's trials and tribulations. I have gained some much needed perspective from this story. I will not comment again about the decisions he makes for the University of Kentucky period.

Somebody needs to send this example of fine journalism to the clowns at the LHL. Just proves that Journalism students can write more heart-touching stories than Story, Clay, or Tipton.
I wonder if bitterness and cynicism just comes with their job.
Well I hope the people that need to read this story have their oppurtunity to.
I am not even a religious man but I respect Mr. Barnhart's effort and perseverance to do the right thingin the face of bitter, ignorant, and confrontational morons that call themselves fans.

My respect for the man has been increased 1000%. His faith will see him through the difficult times. As a fan, I am not going to allow writers in the negative Kentucky press steal my joy or my love for the UK football program.
Thanks for posting this article.

Beautiful.
I did some work for the Kernel when I was in college. I don't remember anyone there who ever wrote a piece like that during my time. We had good writers, many of whom are doing well professionally today, but I do not recall anything so powerful.
Nicely done! Thanks for linking that. It made my morning.

BTW, the caption above the picture of Mitch and a heckler where Mitch asked if the guy wanted to go back and talk with the coaches and the team was classic!

No, Story was the jackanapes that called Mitch at home.

:thumbup:thumbup. Thanks for writing this piece, Chris.
Shame on Mark Story, John Clay, Jerry Tipton, and Rick Bozich, all of whom have so mistreated Mitch Barnhart through their printed words (and his coaching hire, Rich Brooks). It's a shame what pain Barnhart's family has experienced, inlarge partbecause of some of those guys in our local media. KUDOS to Mitch Barnhart for surviving it through his faith.
Too, as I have so often posted here, one of UK athletic director Mitch Barnhart's greatest strengths is that he really CARES about the student-athletes. Go talk with some of the UK football players (or members of anyUK athletic team) and ask what they think of Mitch Barnhart. If you do and you haveone of those"Ditch Mitch and Rich" shirts, I suspect you quickly dispose of it.
I hope everyone opens the link and reads thispiece.Especially anyoneof strong Christian faith will enjoyandappreciate it.Most any UK fan will likewise be proud of the UK athletic director as they read it.Again, :thumbup:thumbupto Chris.
