Hey ladies!

My wife loves to cook and I love to eat her cooking. One of her persistent complaints is over not having a quality set of cutlery. We've got a hodge podge of knives, some hand me down, some received as gifts, and one or two we don't know where came from.I've been thinking about buying her a set of Wusthof cutlery. Have any of you had any experience with kitchen knives...and what would you recommend?

We have had our set of Chicago Cutlery stainless steel knives for 23 years and other than sharpening now and then they are still going strong ..... I believe Overstock has the new 75th Anniversary edition high carbon stainless steel set normally priced at$350 on special for $160

Thats all we have ever used so not much help :(

I have two machete-looking knives thatare ugly but my husband keeps them sharp enough that I don'tcare what they look like, they work well. They're about as attractive asa cast iron skillet. I think he bought them at a restaurant supply store. Since he has done business with chefs and restaurants for most of his adult life, I'm sure that's the origin of his choice in knives....but probably not what you would want to give as a gift.

I'm a serious amatuer chef.....

Henckels 5-star are what I have and love.

My neighbor bought his wife a fine set of Wustof knives. I like them quite a bit too...

I think mine are Chicago Cutlery. I also have the Rachel Ray Wusof knife and I love it.

A great gift Grub. I cool a lot too. I was so grateful to have my favorite knife all sharpened for Thanksgiving. Nothing anymore helpful than a sharp knife...for cooking purposes of course:>
