The whispers started on Saturday: The University of Kentucky seemed destined for the Music City Bowl to face Clemson.
For many Wildcat fans, Nashville was the perfect location.
And for Rafael Little, Clemson turned out to be the perfect opponent.
Tony Stewart, who coached Little in youth baseball, basketball and football in his hometown of Anderson, S.C., recalled talking to Little the night before the bowl bid became official.

Do you think he was initially dissapointed by Clemson not offering him a scholarship, I take it he grew up a Clemson fan. I wonder if he got both offers, where he would had committed to.
He did get both offers - he chose UK. :thumbup

Aquick look at the Clemson board someone linked here led to posts by their fans denying that Clemson ever made an offer to Little. My recollection matched yours and I'm glad to see an article that verifies that.
Continuing to pull in more solid recruits from the Palmetto State will be good for this program. Astar performance by Little in this game would give that a nice little boost.

I'm sure glad he chose to be a WILDCAT!
Anderson is right up there in the Carolina "high country' not too far from Clemson--also near Athens, Ga. Clemson would be his home school but I recall some noise that he wasn't recruited by them for some reason---grades? Anyhow, it was one of those things where a bottom-dweller was able to grab off a good one--thanks.
IMO, Little probably won't have a great day against Clemson. Their defensive front is too good to allow us much of a running game unlesswe get much better run blocking up front . That could happen during the off weeks, but I don't expect that much. In fact, I'm constantly amazed that our O-line can give Woodson decent time to pass very often but very seldom opens real holes for the running game.

Me, too, bleedbluelady. :)
Too, Signing Day of that year, I stayed glued to the computer, waiting for Rafael's announcement. Our guy Joker Phillips was reportedly on the line with Rafael for hours, and Joker went to the press conference and gave the sign that Rafael had committed while Coach Brooks was announcing the class to the media. At least that's what I have read. :)
Thank you, Rafael, AND thank you, Joker. :)
