Does anyone know the parts of town to stay away from? I had heard there are some not so nice parts of town near the stadium. Any help would be appreciated.

The only area that you have to worry about around the stadium would be if you walked north into the residential area. Honestly, you would have no reason whatsoever to go into that area. Just south of the stadium, and over the river, the entire area is extremely safe, and very touristy.... You will have no problems.

There are not hotels or bars within the afformentioned residential area. Just get back over the river after the game or stay in the parking area to tailgate.

You can walk from the Rennaissance Hotel (where the team stayed when we were last there) down thru some interesting down-town areas to the river and then on game day there is a large crowd heading in toward the stadium and I never felt any danger at all. If the weather isn't too cold, it's also nice to walk down to the replica of the original Nashville along the river. My son and I walked around a great deal even though we had our car in the garage since it's always easier to walk in a strange place than to drive....but then we weren't heading up toward OpryLand.
