Smith, a member of Bill Curry's UK staff in 1992, is tearing up the NFL. 5-11 in his first season with the Bears in 2004, he improved to 11-5 in 2005 and he is 11-2 this season despite having one of the worst QB's (Rex Grossman) in the league.

Your assesment of Rex is a bit off-base. He played some pretty bad games during his slump, but look at the six or seven that he exceled. He was one of the best quarterbacks in the league for the first quarter of the season. He went through a tough time, and he will rebound.
Kudos to Smith, however, as he has stuck with Rex, though many, such as yourself, were screaming for his dismissal. He is the most calm and rational coach in the NFL.

Lovie is stuck with Rex. That is how it is. In the off-season, the Bears will go shopping for a new QB especially if the Bears don't reach the Super Bowl.

I disagree. The management LOVES Rex. They have waited so long for him to come around, and regardless of the outcome (minimum of NFC Semifinals), the Bears will stick with what they have. They have Rex locked up for a couple more years, and Griese is under a four year contract. If Rex fails next year, Griese will be the man for a while.
