Has anybody found a good car flag that isn't falling apart and thread bare by the second or third use ? I'm getting ready to buy a new set for the bowl game, which would make my third set this season alone.

Get a wind sock, if you can find one, instead of a flag. The wind blows through them; no flapping around; lasts much longer; looks better too. I got mine at J. D. Becker's in Louisville. It may take some searching; they are hard to find.

I have been making cornhole bags for awhile now and I am going to try and make a flag out of the duck canvas, which is used for the bags.

How big is the flag? I might not be able to get it done before the bowl game, but it would definetly be durable enough to withstand the effects of wind and rain - you know for next year's bowl game.

Wind Socks DO NOT last longer and all car flags for that matter are made of inferior materials.... For the past several years I was up to 7 car flags and one by one they've all dropped off. I lost a 96 champions flag on my way to the UK-IU game in Louisville in 04 and that was my best one. Then I had to retire one because it couldn't last longer than a yr without completely ripping apart. I had one flag fall of the stick. One flag cracked at the base... And I lost my wind sock in Maryland on my way to Philadelphia last March. It was just it's second time being used. The current two I have are starting to shed so I put more on my xmas list and I'm going to try and fix the ones I get to not fall off and shed so fast.

I didn't have a problem all last year with my set of flags I flew on my car. Then that care cought on fire and the SUV i've got now has the smoker guards on all 4 windows and I can't get a flag to work on it. Anybody have a solution that does not include ripping the smoker guards off? The flags I had were just the regular ones at Wal-Mart...

I witnessed it first hand. I have a uk flag I have had a while ( maybe 8-10 years) that is made of a silky material and it is shreaded a little, but is still strong. Its been all over the place (i.e. Atlanta, philly, colorado, and many trips back in forth from lexington to louisville).
