I take issue with his comment, "Thats the most open shots we had all year". To me it implies that our defense had nothing to do with it, which is CRAP. A couple other things he said were crap as well.
After the video ends a Tubby video will start in a few seconds as well.

Bitter, bitter man.
As others have said, Williams and Palacios and McGee and Jenkins took a lot of those open shots.
None of those guys can shoot with any consistency. Two of those kids are average shooters in their careers (Jenkins and Palacios), one of them is a poor shooter (McGee), and the other is arguably the worst shooter in all of college basketball (Williams).
You can't tell me that Tubby didn't draw up the defensive gameplan for those guys to get those exact shots. All day long.
And Pitino has nobody but himself to blame. He had a guy, David Padgett, who was unstoppable at times and he allowed Williams and Palacios to jack up threes. Beautiful.
Anyway, it doesn't matter. I don't know why his comments bother me. He ripped UK after the game last year as well.
Rick lost. We won. Their program was in better shape in Crum's last years. 'Tis all good. :D

Exactly, We were daring Palacios to jack up those shots and he took the bait. How many open shots did their best 3 point shooter (Scott)get? None.
I think our gameplan was to let their poor outside shooters destroy them, and itworked to perfection.
Pitino got outcoached, again.

Listening to both coaches....Pitino is a liar and a jerk..........He said " I have said from the beginning we are NOT a very good basketball team" He did not say that at the beginning of the season
Tubby says it like it is...........he does not make excuses and he says they did not shoot well..he said key players stepped up..he said they work hard in practice......NO lies just the truth

Amazing how he talks about how great their offensive flow was, somehow justifying their lowest point total in 3 years.

If that's his exact quote then the man's a liar.
About a month ago, I heard Lachlan McClain play a soundbite where Pitino raved about UofL's athleticism, their toughness, their maturity. He finished by saying, "We're going to be a lot more prepared for the Big East this year."
WTH!?! :thumbdown

I doubt U of L is as bad as Pitino haters hope they are.
Ricky says he has been running these offensive sets for years. Tubby aint no dummy, maybe it is time for Ricky to change his offensive sets, I am thinking Tubby has him dialed in...:P

I saw on another thread where Pitino said that UK had a lot to work on. (That's not his exact words, but it was something like that.)
Last year after the game, he said, "They're [meaning UK] a good team. Not a great team. But they're decent, and they've got a great point guard [Rajon Rondo]."
Both of those statements are true. But I'm not sure why Pitino feels the need to talk about our team in the post-game press conference. You NEVER see opposing coaches do that. Ever. Can you imagine Tubby saying that UofL had a lot to work on? The media would crucify him. Yet it's all part of Pitino's schtick, I guess.
Looks like that schtick is wearing out, even with some of Pitino's most adamant supporters. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

At least the world of Kentucky is in perfect harmony today, with UK being in its rightful spot at the top. :thumbup

After the Illinois game in the Final Four a couple of years ago, Bill Simmons (who loathes Pitino from his days in Boston destroying Simmons' favorite NBA team) made a good observation.
After the game, Pitino was talking about Illinois was a vastly superior team and how it would've taken a Herculean effort from Louisville to even have a chance to win the game. You know that before the game, Pitino was trying to motivate his players by telling them things like, "We can beat these guys! They're not any better than we are!"
Simmons pointed out that this was one of the biggest reasons he failed in Boston. You can't pull those kind of tricks on NBA players without them losing a lot of respect for you, but it might work on college kids.
I've got to think that even college kids would have to see through those kind of comments and lose some respect for their coach.
