LOUISVILLE - CBS analyst Billy Packer noted the knack Kentucky Coach Tubby Smith has for getting productive play from reserves.
"He always has unbelievable confidence in his substitution patterns," Packer said after UK's 61-49 victory over Louisville yesterday. "You say, look at that lineup. But somehow it works out."
Reserve center Lukasz Obrzut helped prove that point in a game in which UK's subs outscored the starters 33-28. Obrzut contributed six points, five rebounds and a block. Packer noticed.
"He was averaging five minutes (actually 5.6 minutes)," Packer said of Obrzut, "and he played like he was all-conference."
Obrzut had scored only two points the previous six games and grabbed only three rebounds all season until yesterday.
"The thing is I always play well against Louisville," Obrzut said.
