Last week brought new success to former Kentucky forward Walter McCarty. He had one of his songs recorded by R & B artist Tyrese on an album that became available in stores on Tuesday.
The song is titled Come Back to Me, Shawty, which McCarty said dealt with "a guy who did his girl wrong and tried to get her back."
McCarty showed his interest in music while he played for Kentucky in the 1990s. More than once, he sang the national anthem before games.
He has no desire to record and sing his own compositions.
"I just write," he said. "That's what I've always done. I love writing. That's my passion."
