LOUISVILLE - The way they tell it, at halftime, inside the visitors' locker room, the big European center, Lukasz Obrzut, was going ballistic.
"Lukasz was just screaming," recounted Ramel Bradley, the junior point guard. "He was screaming, 'This is our state! This is our state! This is our state!'"
The guy from Poland?
"I just know that for us this is the important game of the year," said the 7-footer from Gliwice. "No matter what, we have to win this game."
And for a third straight year, the Cats did exactly that.
For the third straight year, if you go by men's college basketball, Kentucky is a blue state, indeed, after Tubby Smith's Cats beat Rick Pitino's Louisville Cardinals 61-49 yesterday at Freedom Hall.
"I haven't lost to Louisville since I've been here," Bradley said with a border-to-border grin. "That feels good."
