Last week, after their close loss to Arizona, both Jay Bilas and Digger Phelps said Louisville was going to be "very good."

Now they're media dogs, and Pitino is under fire from his fans.

Did so much really change in a week?

No. Not if you look at it objectively.

I tend to think UofL lost to two pretty promising teams this week. They're not great, and they're going to struggle at times in the Big East, but I still think they're better than they were a year ago.

My point: we got a good road win yesterday, no matter how ugly it was.

You are right.

It is fun to bash the Cards.:D

But to your point...I have watched nearly all of their games and they are a little better than they showed. They do not, however, react to good defense well and seem to panic..case in point...yesterday.

Their shooters are wildly inconsistent but Smith, Scott and Sosa are better than they showed yesterday. Williams is horrible outside. Keeping him out of the lane was a key for us, IMO. He is good there and he got nothing driving.

Padgett is solid, but not great by any mean. Palacios is vastly overrated. Character is going to be very good in time, but knows little of the college game and from what I hear, is not happy right now.

The bottom line is that UL should not be this bad....period. For all the knocks on Tubby's recruiting, Ole Ricky is worse, IMO. And his coaching is not great these days.

I also don't think our offense is a bad as we look either. Both teams have tons of room for improvement, but even though I am slanted, I think UK has a bigger upside. Our kids seem to be much more coachable.

We shall see.

Louisville is bad right now. Whether it's the coaching or the players can/will be debated for a while. If we had lost yesterday, our boards would have imploded, probably worse than theirs'.
