I hate to break it to you but the bowls people "care about" are NOT on ESPN. You know as well as I that the only reason your dinky bowl got a 4.6 was because it was the ONLY GAME ON TV. If you wanted to watch football then that is what you turned the dial to. ESPN promoted that game like no other because it had to to get anybody to watch. A commuter school with about 30K fans and a smallcity school in a state with about 30K people.ESPN put as much lipstick on that pig as I've ever seen on a sporting event......maybe their other big sporting event, Evil Knevil jumping the snake river, got slightly more hype.

It still finished poorly compared to real bowl games with real teams from STATES and not commuter schools.

True you've played in more "NIT-like" bowls, and LOST in them. If we'd played in these bowl-lite bowls then I'm sure we'd be happy as fans but we would by no means be promoting ourselves as the next Miami or SoCal. We'd understand that since there are about 25 bowls that nearly half of D1 football teams get to go "dancing." Unfortunately we are in the SEC and not the Conf Gawd Awful or the Big Easy and we are not up to the challenge yet. If our rolls were reversed it would be us losing in a string of "faux-bowls" like you have done and you'd be bringing up the rear of the SEC.

Actually the wonderful thing about being UK is that we can even go 6-5 and get a pretty good bowl because we have large numbers of FANS who travel in huge numbers. ie. Peach Bowl 40K of us. The Bowls would take us with a losing record if they could because we are good for business. That is the kind of thing that comes with being a large National University, one that is ranked academically in the top tier of the US News and WorldReports.

Bowls understand that Tier 4, small city commuter collegesare not "sexy." They do not have a natural draw from around the country. AndUofL has such a terrible academic reputation that the Bowl folks understand that its fans cannot travel well. Lil Bro fanswill lose their jobs if nobody is there to operate the drive-thru window. Heck, who would be here to drive the cabs or to empty the waste baskets?

You guys really need to workon improving the ABC's rather than spending so much time on X's and O's.It might help free up youfanbase for trips.

That is exactly why you guys will NEVER get there. You like Cincinnati will get nothing but Thuggins-like bad citizens who cannot get into "real" universities. Sure the thugs are good for short term wins in football but they are like taking too many jucos. It is a no win situation in the long run.

Your coach is a Thuggins type recruiter and that is all he will get in the long run. Bad citizens and throw aways from the big time schools.

We are unable to accept the lower level students at UK that UofL is able to accept. Bush is a good example. He couldn't get into Ohio State or UK for that matter but the commuter school in his back yard was willing and able. And with the 12 ACT score he is in the top of his class at UofL.

The admission standards are no different for student athletes atUKthan they are UofL. NONE. That is just plain garbage you are spitting. But what ever makes you feel better. Fact is, NOBODY is good enough to turn away a player like Bush.

Sorry Noknee but you are wrong the admissions standards are lower in the fact that they are more flexable with who they let in. I came to UK but had to go to LCC for one year to get my GPA up but UL let me in right away. The fact is that UL is a Tier 4 school and UK is a Tier four university. And Bush wanted to come to UK but they could not get it done I don't know what acore he got on his SAT but it wasn't enough. The school can not do anything when it comes to in coming freshman and their SAT scores. They have to get wht the school requires or they dont get in. Example of a recent UK football player that wasn't allowed admissions until he got the required SAT score.

That offensive lineman you are talking about is Garry Williams from Seneca High School and he is not dumb...his score was half a point short..He graduated from Seneca with 2.8 GPA..He comes from a highly Academic famliy...His dad teaches at Kentucky State University
