Reading this week's Cats' Pause, I noticed some quotes from players that I thought some of you non-subscribers might enjoy reading. So I'm sharing some of my favorites:

Matt McCutchan on framing his jersey: "I'm definitely framing this with the dirt on there and everything, the blood. It's going on my mantle."

Matt McCutchan: "We used that every week. Coach told us every week, 'Do something that hasn't been done around here in a long time' and we finally accomplished that." (AMEN to that! You MADE HISTORY!).

Michael Aitcheson on framing his jersey: "I'm going to put this in a frame. I'll write: 'perseverance' across it because that's the one word that describes this. We just kept on fighting."

Michael Aitcheson: "We know how to win now. There is no curse anymore."

Marcus McClinton (composer of the "We Believe" video): "I have been believing. Now everybody else can."

DeMoreo Ford: "You look around and you look at your teammates, look in their eyes and see how happy they are and it's all worth it."

DeMoreo Ford when discussing his seventy-yard touchdown catch: "Dre is amazing. Print that. Dre is amazing." (Someone else was also amazing on that play, DeMoreo.)

Wesley Woodyard: "If the game was played on paper we'd be blown out 50-0 or something like that, but we don't play through the paper, we play through our heart."

Dicky Lyons, Jr.: "This proves this year wasn't a fluke. This proves we deserve everything that is coming to us." (AMEN to that one!)

Dicky Lyons, Jr.: "This is the biggest thing that's happened here in 22 years. I'm 21 years old so it was before I was even born. This is something I came here for."

Jacob Tamme: "A lotof people didn't really give us a chance but this shows the kind of program we have. Sweet, that's all I can say. Pretty sweet. It was awesome."

Jacob Tamme on his recovering his third onside kick of the season: "I just did what I always do, said a little prayer. I didn't want to let them down."

Micah Johnson: "Next year we want to be a top 25 team andgo toanother bowl. Nest year after that, we want to go toa BCS bowl. Everybody is hungry. We're going to continue to get better." (Who out there doesn't like that attitude!")

Matt May wrote in one column that Mitch Barnhart was "hugging his kids as tears welled up in his eyes." I had read that Coach Brooks said that the experience was just too emotinal for him to put into words. As Jacob Tamme said, "SWEET."On the Cats' Pause cover, Wesley Woodyard (and possibly Braxton Kelley, as only his back is shown) are kissing the trophy.SWEET indeed.:):)

Great quotes. One of my favorites is from Woodson. "I came here for a purpose and making a bowl game was one of those. But I really want to be the quarterback that knocks off Tennessee and knocks off Florida. That's always been one of my goals. It would be great for our fans and the university if we could get those big-time wins next season and finish them off."

Reading about how seniors,Durrell White, Matt McCutchan and Michael Aitcheson stayed in the locker room so long after the game really got to me. Aitcheson said, "I just wanted to savor the moment and take everything in. I was pretty emotional in the locker room. I'm not going to lie to you and tell you a story, it was tough when Guy Morriss left, but I told coach (Rich) Brooks thank you for staying the course. I respect that. He went through the entire deal with us."

I believed in them that we would win that game. I never doubted it for one millisecond. You could just feel it was coming. It was some sorta karma thing or something. I got goose bumps yet again reading this thread. Awesome simply awesome!:thumbup:wildcatface:wildcatface:wildcatfa ce:wildcatface:wildcatface:wildcatface:thumbup

These coaches are changing the UK Football culture, people. Didn't you see Micah's quote? Wow!

Micah Johnson: "Next year we want to be a top 25 team andgo toanother bowl. Nest year after that, we want to go toa BCS bowl. Everybody is hungry. We're going to continue to get better."

I find it absolutely intoxicating that we're still glowing about football on January 7.

Michael Aitcheson on framing his jersey:

I have now watched the Music City Bowl replay a few times and must say that perseverance aptlydescribes the job that Michael did on Clemson's all American defensive end Gaines Adams.

By early in the third quarter Aitcheson with sometime help from the end or a back had rendered Adamsmostly ineffective. His actions included every move imaginable to stay betweenAdams and the ball. Rolling, Crawling, Jumping, Clawing, Scratching with an occasional block thrown in for good measure.

Michael Aitcheson will be missed for his leadership his perseverance.

Thanks for adding that one, bleedbluelady. I, too, had lovedthat one, but had missed itwhile I was trying to include as many as possible from throughout the issue. :)Too, how some ofthe seniors stayed in that locker room so long afterwards also "really got to me." I am still SO HAPPY for them.

Also, UedK, thanks for writing more about Michael Aitcheson. That young man's handling of Clemson's Gaines' Adams (after Adams' getting the two early sacks) was absolutely huge to the victory. Too, as you mentioned and as written in an earlier Cats' Pause article, Aitcheson played a huge role on this team, leadership-wise, especially in keeping up teammates' spirits (and especially when Woodson had needed him). Aitcheson, along with all of the other seniors, should be applauded, and, yes,all theseniorswill so be missed. :)
