HUNTINGTON -- O.J. Mayo was late-arriving and slow-starting, but finished strong.
The Huntington High senior guard missed five of his first six shots after arriving for the pre-game shootaround only 12 minutes before the scheduled tip-off of Saturday's ESPNU-televised game against DeMatha Catholic. But he finished with 27 points, including 24 after the first quarter, as the Highlanders pulled away for a 74-62 victory at a sold out Cam Henderson Center.

I watched this game along with the UK game Saturday night and suffice it to say that we (UK fans) need to make a huge good impression on Patrick Patterson when he plays in Kentucky.
He is PERFECT for our team--and we need him desperatly--especially is Morris goes. Either way, if we can get him, he plays 30 minutes a game from day one. He is that good.
He is not as flashy as Mayo--and the announcers barely mentioned Patterson and fell all over themselves for Mayo--but I'd love to have Patterson. He plays hard and has all the skills we need.
Lets hope there is a big pro-UK crowd when he comes to Kentucky to play and that he signs with the Cats. Most important single recruit since Chapman in my opinion.

I watched some of it on ESPNU, too, and Patterson is the real deal. Patterson would go a long way in solving UK frontline problems.

Hopefully we get Patterson !AJ Stewart is really no better than Sheray Thomas IMO after seeing him play in person.
They are totally different players. AJ is super athletic and IMO has a much, much higher upside than Sheray ever had. Not saying he is all world, but I think he will be a solid player.
I do agree though that we need Patterson in the worst way.

FWIW, Jeff Drummond was pleased with AJ Stewart's performance (as shared on last night's Cats' Pause show).
