Im surprised noones posted this yet but its a brand new article on rivals about Patterson. Of course you have to be a paid member to read it but im hoping someone on here can read the full article and shed some light. Regardless the title of the article sounds good for Tubby and the cats.

His father was quoted as saying he heard about the broadcast saying this. Completely untrue according to the father. Nothing much in the article but that they are not sure how long they will be staying in Lexington on the 13th. Patterson has a game in town in the early afternoon. Cats play later in the evening.

Lexington Paper this morning said that the Huntington High team is to watch the Cats play that night.

It really is hard to say that a program with a tradtion like Kentucky should have to beg an 18 year old to come play ball, but that seems what you have to do to "show the love" to recruits. So, with that said, I think the entire coaching staff and all the fans in the stands for theMiss St. game need to collectively get down on their knees and say, "Patterson we love you (eventhough most of us haven't seen you play but reports say your a beast) and for the love of every thing pure and holy, please come to Kentucky." I'd hate to see what happens if he chooses elsewhere and Morris leaves next year.

No offense Bird, but you should change you're name to Chicken Little.

Kidding.

OK...this will ALL be IMO, but from my personal coaching experience and watching the game and the media frenzy surrounding, it is a different game from just 10 years ago. This, along with the interviews and personal quotes and habits (read entourages) of some of the highly talented kids of today, it just seems like such a "what can you do for me" / "I'm gonna get mine" attitude by many of the best. They could care less about tradition or a TEAM oriented approach. It is a "highlight" generation...and too many don't want to wait to become good players...they want to be scoring machines because it ends up on SportsCenter.

I could care less who signs in the end, as I support the Wildcats regardless of who wears the uniform. Don't have to like the game every player has, but I support the player for the effort if nothing else. I DO care who signs each year as I certainly would like certain piecesfor the team I love.

The way I see it, the choice is ultimately up toa 17-19 yr old kid/man, who has probably been told "you're the greatest" for the last 3-4 yrs. That decision is one I cannot make, but can influence by cheering (or booing) when they are here or by pissing or praising when online. I want great team players, but I don't want UK to cheat or lie to get them.

I hope the best for all of these recruits, whether they attend UK or not, but I hope many understand the intensity of love we fans have forALL our players, both present and past, as well asthe desire for continued greatness in our future.

Don't really know where this ramble went, but been building for a while after reading so many "blame/woe is me/we'll never" posts.

Thanks,

Bird

Thanks,

No,I actually agree with most of what you say. I think a vast majority of us at WCN will supportUK'steam not matter what, but we can all admit that its muchmore funto support a team that is playing well. And for us to play well next year, we are going to need inside players. The sky isn't falling by any stretch of the imagination, but my gut tells me if we don't get Patterson or Moses its probably going to rain pretty hard
