Way to go Cats. Lets keep it going.

Yeah, the win streak is doing wonders for our team. You can tell the confidence and talent is really coming out now, which is what wins will do for a team. Our young guys are playing better in the offense, and our veteran leaders are stepping it up. The longer the win streak, the better. Let's keep it going into February, which is where we're gonna need it the most. Either way, I love the way we're playing. Such a great turnaround from last year...

Amen.

Tubby told us it would be. Turns out, the man knows what he's talking about.

USC may be the weakest team in the league, Sure didn't miss Balkman tonight but we are on the uptick

Best allaround game of the season IMO. Great win for the Cats. Nice to see a blow out for a change. I actually lit my Opus x victory cigar with 10 minutes to go, it tasted especially fine.

I hope you saved your best cigar for the UF game. I enjoyed the victory, but don't celebrate expected blow outs of weak teams.

If the cats can keep this going and beat Florida Feb. 10th, it could be the makings of something great.

Don't celebrate expected blowouts?!

Would you have felt better about it if the game wasn't decided until a mid-court buzzer beater at the end?

My gosh, there are people running around who think the world comes to an end if the Cats DON'T blow out a team out.

Sheesh!

Whole lotta work to get done before that game.

I'm especially worried about Georgia next Wednesday night.

I am already worrying about Vandy. That's what I do........I stress every game. I always am a nervous wreck until I feel confident that we have the game in the bag. needless to say, last night is the first time that I have been able to breathe easy in the second half. I am so proud of these Cats!. I kind of like it when they fly under the radar. Our schedule only gets tougher from here on out, but I think these kids are on the rise. GO CATS! Kick some Commodore A**.

Indeed. Great win last night, lots of good things to say about it. Nice team effort, 21 assists on 35 baskets.50% from 3, 4 players in double figures, 10 players scored, and 27 points from the bench. Starting to see some consistency which is awesome. Need to keep this team focused on one game at a time. Vandy is next and they swept us for the first time in forever last year. This is the same team that beat Tennessee. Need to keep taking care of business and not looking ahead. All the road games from here on out will be tough. I'm not even thinking about Florida at this point, at least not out loud. But UF is not unbeatable. They've lost 2 times this year already. Focus, Focus, Focus. Keep the inside/outside game going and this team could end up very successful.

Some posts suggest that there should be champagne corks popped for every victory? UK should blow out the weak teams. The Cats are among the elite in the SEC and are supposed to compete for the league title, every year. I fully expect UK to hand UT and UF defeats, sweeping UT and splitting the Florida series. A UK win at home, over an anticipated #1 ranked UF, is worthy of a celebration.

This theme also can include the question: When is it proper for fans to storm the court? Only when your team is a severe under dog and gets the win, a game in which a team comes back from the dead being down by a ton of points ( ie. the UK comeback vs. LSU), or a team wins a rare championship(for UK = NCAA title, for a lesser team = league title).

If UK keeps up the winning streak into the UF game, and I expect they can, fans should anticipate a home victory over UF. The cats could win or lose the game on an x-factor, a player for either to team could get "in the zone" or a star player could get in foul trouble. If UK loses that game it will be a disappointment and they will just have to play harder when they meet them on the road. But, a UK win in that game should elicit "over rated" chants from the fans, regarding UF's #1 ranking. There definately shouldn't be any storming the court.

I think one of the reasons why people may be celebrating so much is because we havent blown a team out that bad or had that great of a game in a very long time.

Secondly I disagree with your "storming the court" opinion. The OSU - Texas game last night was an absolute classic, one of the best games I've ever seen. The OSU fans who were into the game the entire time stormed the court afterwards. Ohio States fans rushed the field after beating Michigan this year as well as Boise State's. Coming from a student fan i find completely acceptible to run out on the court/field after you have been yelling your a** off the whole game in support of your team.

I'm proud of this team and the improvement from the start of the season. I know they will have many tough games in the next 6 weeks, but this improvement will go a long way in winning those games. Great Job Cats!

I understand the points you're trying to make, don't get me wrong. I guess you're going to have to give your definition of "celebration". I think everyone in Wildcat Nation was glad to see the team play well and equally glad to see the outcome as it was, but at the same time I think it's safe to say no one was running out into the streets of downtown Lexington going crazy because we beat a clearly out-manned, out--played, and out-coached South Carolina team, either.

At the same time, I don't think we should get so ho-hum about winning that we can't get pumped up for each successive victory. When we start treating games as "business as usual" and we can't get happy about it, something is very wrong.

I was going to say the same thing, bleedbluelady (surprise, surprise :ggrin:).

Too, it was nice simply to breathe easy during that second half Tuesday night, fanaticfan. Also like you, I am SO PROUD of these Cats! I really LOVE this team and hope they can continue to perform well as the schedule becomes tougher and tougher.
