From Knoxnews.com:

...Harb was CAK's starting quarterback against Tennessee Temple in the season opener a year ago. Except, there was just one itty-bitty, tiny, little problem.

"The funny thing was," Harb said, "that I'd never played football before, growing up. The year we went deep in the playoffs (2003) was my first year playing. I didn't know anything about the position. When I became the starter, there was no one else to do it.

"I'd never even thrown a pass in a real game before."

It didn't show. Harb passed for 355 yards and six touchdowns against Temple and by night's end CAK was 1-0.

"It was just one of those nights," he said. "I was like 'Holy cow! What if the rest of the games were like this?' Of course they weren't. But, it was a dream game."

The rest of the games weren't all as sweet as the first. CAK mustered a 4-5 record and barely missed the playoffs due to an overtime loss to Oneida in the last game of the season.

"We think about it, but we don't even bring it up," Harb said of the loss. "Because it kills us. It killed. It hurt us so bad. We gave that game away. We should have had it."

Still, Harb passed for 2,208 yards and 22 touchdowns last season, barely knowing a thing at season's start about quarterbacking intricacies. But by the season's end, people began to notice the talent in Harb's left arm and an influx of recruiting letters targeted the Harb homestead...

...Harb's only experienced the tip of the recruiting iceberg.

"I've been contacted quite a bit," he said. "I went to six camps over the summer: Vanderbilt, Kansas, Indiana, Auburn, Tennessee and Kentucky. They invited me to come. They were fun. (CAK offensive coordinator) Coach (Rusty) Bradley, he knows some people. I tried to pick out camps where he knew people. But, it was cool.

"At first, it was kind of intimidating, but I felt like I held my own. It was fun to meet different coaches, see different campuses. I felt like it was a good experience for me."...

Sounds all good and well, but I kinda worry about a kid who is only in his second or third year of organized football, especially at QB. I just don't see how someone who hasn't played all that much football in his life can make that transition into SEC football.
