Live and learn. Accentuate the positive. Use a second-half collapse as a reason to keep believing in the face of a future deficit.
That's the advice Georgia Coach Dennis Felton had for Kentucky after his team came back from a 17-point deficit to beat UK 78-69 in overtime.
"You have to work on the attitude of perseverance," Felton said. "You can't lose (sight of) the good things. Kentucky played well enough to be in position to win the game. Just like we did at Alabama."
Four days earlier, Georgia led Alabama by 19 points before losing 78-76 on a buzzer-beating shot.
Kentucky led Georgia by 13 at halftime. It had been five years since UK lost a game after holding that big a halftime advantage. The Cats enjoyed a 40-24 halftime lead at Mississippi State on Jan. 5, 2002. With Mario Austin scoring 32 points, State roared back to win 74-69 in overtime.

I'm not a big fan of Felton, when things don't go his way, his team resorts to thug ball, but after his comment, I have a bit more respect for him.:thumbup

I am of the opinion that these are the things Tubby needs to be saying. That as the leader of the program he needs to communicate to the fans his ideas on whats wrong, when something is wrong, and ask us all to be positive and support the team. What happens is that we don't h ear from Tubby except for coach speak and we all come to our own conclusions as to whats wrong.

Tubby seems tired.
His mannerisms, his diction, evenhis pauses in speech, all remind meof Bill Parcells this past season in Dallas, and we see how that ended. Not suggesting by any means that he is going to retire, just noticing a similarity.

I don't see any change this year vs past years. Tubby hasn't completed very many sentences in the past, he switches from one thought to another very quickly. Do you see something different this year, or are you just noticing it for the first time?

After the Alabama debacle, Felton has no right to tell us to keep our chin up after this game. He whined and cried like a baby. Sent in tapes to the SEC and NCAA crying about that game. Talk about being a hypocrite.

I think the whole concept that KENTUCKY has to be given advice by the Georgia coach tells us a lot about the level our program is (has sunk to) now.

Never thought I would see the day that we were getting sympathy from a Georgia coach- that's what happens when you hire one.

If Felton is ALWAYS that lucky, maybe we can hire him to be the 'Y' at every home game. Just a thought.

It seems like everyone is giving Kentucky advice. If not some coach then some sports writers and if not sports writers some fans are lecturing other fans. We are not the only school to have rabid fans. The Card fans really had a bad time for awhile and were disgusted with Rick Pitino. I think all fans hate to lose. I just think that Kentucky fans worry about it more than most other fans. I just plan to keep on yelling for the Wildcats and whatever happens just happens. So we are not the "kings in basketball" right now. There is also a lot more parity in basketball than there used to be. We will just have to live with it.

OK, let's see if you like this better:
"I think the whole concept that the Georgia coach feels that he needs to give advice to Kentucky says a lot!'
I'll be sure and check with you to make my posts suit you from now on.
How about you apologize for calling names to people who are just trying to post on a message board where we should be able discuss things?
