First of all, I have found myself watching more and more women's games and I am really starting to appreciate their style of play.

Now my question; do the women have to get the ball across the half court line in ten seconds as the men do? I watched the Tennessee-Vanderbilt game last night and at one point in the first half a Vandy player stood in the back court with the ball listening to hear coach and did not get across half court until there was 0:14 seconds remaining on the shot clock. There were a few other times during the game that no one seemed to be in any real hurry to get into the front court as well.

The NCAA women have a 35 second shot clock, and no 10 second back court rule.

However, the NCAA women's committee voted to experiment with the 10-second rule this season. Experiments usually happen during the pre-season exibition games.
