I was digging through won lost records and happened to take time to go through our opponents to see how they were doing.

Non conference teams are doing pretty well actually, it looks like the end of the season will see Chattanooga as a definitive losing team(evidently all 3's all the time hasn't been a winning strategy)and the other potential loser at seasons end, De Paul. We have a couple more actually losing at this time but they are doing well in their conferences and will probablymove over into winning seasons by the end of the year.

The portion of our schedule really getting abused is the SEC west and SC. They will add some losers by seasons end. Overall though, we should stay very high on strength of schedule portion of the RPI rankings.

It won't matter if we start losing but ought to help our seed if we keep winning at a good rate.

Before yesterday's games, here are the records of the teams we beat in the non-conference slate:

Miami of Ohio: 8-11

Santa Clara: 14-7

DePaul: 11-10

Chatanooga: 6-14

Eastern Kentucky: 9-9

Houston: 10-9

UMASS: 15-6

Mississippi Valley State: 9-12

College of Charleston: 15-8

Louisville: 14-6

Indiana: 15-5

That's pretty darn impressive if you ask me.

Another reason UK is sitting pretty for a good seed if they can take care of business down the stretch.

The 0-3 versus top-25 teams is still of concern to me.

Also, we are 6-0 versus SEC teams with winning records and 0-2 against those with a winning confernce record.

Let's not let the cart get ahead of the horse quite yet- the Arkansas game was great but the brunt of the schedule is on the way.

I will say that the UofL and IU wins are looking better as the season rolls along- that's why you hope those two do well (I can't root for them though- that's sacreligious and Un-American).

W/L records in the SEC are misleading.

Because of the evenness of the league, nobody in the West can gain any traction. But there are some decent teams over there. Teams who, if you put them in another league, would be near the top.

Arkansas and Mississippi State are two of those teams. Even Auburn is a team who could go over .500 in any other league in America with exception of possibly the Pac-10.

Actually several of these teams won yesterday, and due to their conference standings, even MS Valley State will be in the winners column come March.
Why is it that when you post something of interes you always get some kind of lecture on being optimistic. Come on. This part is already done and no matter what happens from now on these games are good for our seeding. And if UL and IN continue to do well, end up in the top 25 that is good for our seeding also. Doesn't matter what the heck they do to me, hope they keep winning and go top 25. Good for us.

The true report card will be in March for the SEC and hop you're right.
