UK is now 7-3 in the SEC East. They are one game ahead of Vandy and two games ahead of Georgia.
UK still has Tennessee, Alabama, LSU, Vandy, Georgia and Florida to play.
Vandy's only to real tough games are Florida and UK.
Georgia has Kentucky and Tennessee as their difficult games.
There is a real possibility that UK doesn't even finish second in the SEC East when it is all said and done.

i still think we will be second come Sec tournment time i dont see florida winning out they could but that tough to walk into the sec tournment with that 16-0 record and get beat in the second row by someone. i do see would love to see a florida ut second row matchup with the Vols winning it lol

Heck, there's a real possibility of anything.
But I believe we will.
Vandy looked really overmatched yesterday against UT. I predicted that they would fade down the stretch; I still believe that. Teams that rely so much on the three are doomed to sputter during stretches of a season.
I feel that our main competition for that spot is Georgia. If we can beat the Dogs in Rupp, I think we'll lock it up.
I said 11-5 before the SEC season started. I've still got 11-5. That should get us the bye.

UK, by far, has the toughest road from here on out in the conference. However, Vandy has more problems than just Florida and UK. At Mississippi State will not be a walk in the park and Arkansas coming to Nashville for the last game of the season won't be a auto W, either. Vandy just plain doesn't matchup very good with the Hogs.
Georgia has the easiest road, but they are two back and still have to play UK in Lexington, and tougher than the UT games is their trip into Oxford to play Ole Miss. The Rebels, in my mind, have replaced Mississippi State as the toughest place to play in the Magnolia state.
I see UK finishing second, but they will have to play all out the rest of the season to accomplish this.

The Cats will finish second in the SEC and I dont think Florida will go 16-0, Bama could knock them off wed. night, and i feel like we can beat them in March.

UK has a very tough schedule ahead, one that could send the Cats into a tailspin or could really prepare them for tourney play.

Yep. I'm rooting for the later. They can not have a let down after last night's loss. No time for it. Suck it up and play with a mission.

UK REALLY needs to finish 2nd in the east. Because with the SEC tourney, the 2nd place east team get a first round bye and is in the same bracket as the #1 west team. Who knows which west team it will be, but we would be in the opposite bracket as UF. With a possible SEC champiosnhip matchup against UF.

Bama is not going to beat the Gators in Gainesville. Their road woes are well documented throughout Gottfried's career.

DITTO, Caveman and bleedbluelady. Those are my exact feelings.
Too, bleedbluelady, Ramel :ggrin:and the others need to hear your advice. There's no time to be feeling sorry for themselves after narrowly losing a game they had so badly wanted to win and had fought so hard to win. As you say, suck it up and play with a mission, beginning tomorrow night. GO CATS!

You can feel sorry for yourselves in November in Maui. But not in Feb. There is no time for it. I'm sure Tubby has them back to work and preparing for UT. Even if they would of won on Saturday, it is a quick turnaround to Knoxville. It shouldn't be a secret to these kids what is in store for them Tuesday night.

Wins at Vandy and UT will make it almost a certain.

I'm personally more worried about Alabama than I am either of those teams.
Don't get me wrong: Vandy and UT are more than capable of beating the Cats. I just feel that Vanderbilt is primed for a return to Earth; they just don't have the horses to maintain what they were doing three weeks ago.
And UK is a big-time match-up problem for UT. Not so much at 'Bama. In fact, I think 'Bama is a paper nightmare for the Cats.
I expect close games in both Volunteer State games, but I really think we'll win 'em both. I still predict a loss to the Tide this Saturday.

Why would we want Vandy OR Georgia to beat FL? That would give them an upset win thatwe didnt getand would put them closer to us. Wewant vandy and GA tolose as many games as possible from here onout. Florida can win every game they wantexcept for March 4th and a possible match up in the SEC tourney...

I agree with this match-up. Bama is a great match up against Florida and Bama has played way under their potential. As Steele goes, Bama goes. Bama will probably lose at Florida-they stink on the road-but Bama will be tough to beat on the road.
UK will have to shoot well from outside to beat Bama.
On Tennessee, UK will win depending on turnovers. Morris should have his way but I just worry about taking care of the ball and also containing Lofton. Lofton will score at least 25 against the CATS tomorrow.(I know he has been hurt) Mark it down. I just hope we hold everybody else in check.
After this week I will look at Vandy game. On paper, UK should dominate the inside. Vandy is riding a three game win streak and going for a back to back sweep.

OK here's the way I see it: Now, I looked at each individual schedule of us, vandy, georgia, and included ut in the mix too. As Larry said, we certainly have the toughest one of the four. I really think (worst case scenario) we go 2-4 to finish 9-7 with at least w's over lsu and georgia. now this is WORST CASE for me. That would put us in what I would predict as a tie with uga, since I have them beating aub, msu, and ut. Of course they could lose ut but could also take down ole miss so I say uga probably goes 9-7, splits with Cats. Looking at ut, I say that even if they beat us and bama, they still have to go to ark and uga, and host the gators. I say ut goes .500over the restto finsh at .500, 8-8. Now vandy I figure is set up pretty nicely. even if they lose at home to uf, they could very well win the rest of the games they have. but I could also see them dropping 3 of those five, assuming they sweep usc, which may or may not happen. So vandy to me is a tough call. possibly an 11-5 finish, but more likely they win 3-4 of their last 6 and go either 9-7 or 10-6.
so my conclusion is that worst case, yes we do finish 3rd, 1 game behind vandy, tied with uga, and one ahead of ut. worst case.
reallistically, I'd like to think we can at least take 4 of the last six to finish 11-5 and sit comfortably in 2nd going intoCatlanta.
but the point is, we as they say, "control our own destiny". just win out baby, and we're there. another point is that the vandy game for us could have ALOTriding on it, and I mean ALOT. I relly don't want to see a thursday game for us until afterthe sec's
