Morris is creating shots though when he gets doubled. He passed to Perry for a wide open 15 footer and Bradley for a wide open three...both nothing but brick. Bobby Perry should get really comfortable and familiar with Preston LeMaster.

Still have no clue why Perry is out there. Horrible....:?
CurlyCat

AMEN to the frustrations about Perry, jeez!
Four points in NINE minutes. Not looking good at the moment. But, still believing we can turn this one around, for now.

Perry misses shot, then two free throws.
Morris only good looking thing out there at the moment.
Athens2005
01-10-2006, 08:32 PM
The offense looks better.
Open shots, just not going in. That should (will?) change.
Missing FT's!
Morriss drew 3 fouls in the first 3 minutes. That is big.
We will start to gather energy, make shots, and really win this game big.

Our offense is so friggin' bad! I want to scream...
KapitalCat

Playing hard. Still need to add a sense of urgency to their play. Morris is a big boost. D is pretty good. Shooting and O, as usual is awful. But if KY can hang in there, keep it close, I think we'll win the second half.
Spanish Moss

Our defense is keeping us in the game. That may be the key to victory tonight. The only key
catfanintn
01-10-2006, 08:34 PM
Defense is starting to pick up the slack. Still no half court offense, however.
NotFrank
01-10-2006, 08:36 PM
Morris has three blocks already.
One of the first things they teach guards in basketball is not to feed the post from the top of the key, yet we continue to try it. Our basketball IQ is a major issue.

Nothing wrong with the offense from a coaching perspective so far. We just cannot shoot the ball. Lots of open looks. Have to hit the shots.

your right. I think this is the worst shooting UK team I've seen in 45 years. Tubby isn't allowed to shoot it for them, that's for sure.

Bob,
We have no assists, four to fiveopen looks and guards who LOVE to over dribble. Please tell me what is good about that. We run an NBA offense:dribble, dribble, dribble, pick and roll, and then guard takes a bad shot.

We couldn't score 60 points locked in the gym alone. At least Morris is fighting for position and doing something positive. I think we're improving slightly, but the offense is so gawd awful it's really hard to tell.

And why no assists? Do you think every assist is for a dunk?
They cannot hit open shots. None of them can. This is the most screens and movement I have seen for a while with this team and they still cannot shoot. Hit 2 or 3 of those bombs and we would be on the run.
The effort is there on defense. The effort is there on offense. No results.
I blame Smith for a lot of stuff but not for woeful shooting.

Agreed. HORRIBLE play for a 5th year senior. Where is his head sometimes? I just don't get him on plays like that.
We're hustling- which is fantastic. We still can't hit the broad side of a barn- which is depressing. I think we need more movement overall, but it's improving.
We'll know a lot more about this team by the AU game. For now points are at a premium.

Good point. If they're not going in, you've gotta try something else.
Shooting three's is not a necessity.
In fact, if they didn't have the 3-point shot, whould they be shooting 20 footers at all?
Probably not guys like Rondo/Crawford/Bradley.

Uk Chic, I have read a lot of your posts and have a lot of respect for your knowledge about the Cats, and like you I am not on the Fire-Tubby bandwagon "YET" either. It is killing me slowly the way this team is playing right now , but unlike some on here I think this team has a lot of talent and can go far in the tourney. Now, we just need some answers to what is wrong with them. I am placing my hopes on the return of Morris. Now we have a inside presence and I hope now that the guards get the ball inside to him. I think good things will happen if they do....I am just one of those guys who think the glass is half full I guess.
