The Kentucky men’s tennis team will begin the spring season ranked No. 21 according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. UK will also begin the spring with three players ranked in the Top-100.
The Cats highest ranked player entering the spring will be freshman Bruno Agostinelli at No. 48. The native of Niagara Falls, Canada, led the team with 11 victories this fall. Agostinelli won the first seven matches of his career and captured the A2 Singles Flight bracket at the Middle Tennessee State Fall Invitational. He also reached the quarterfinals of the Wilson/ITA Southeast Regional Championships.
Kentucky’s top returning senior, Alex Hume, will enter the spring as the 61st-ranked singles player in the country. Hume, a native of Alexandria, Va., won nine matches this fall after claiming victory in 26 matches last year.
