TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The pattern continued. Unfortunately for Kentucky, so did the result.
Once again, the Cats dug themselves a double-digit deficit. Once again, a UK rally came up short.
As a result, Alabama beat Kentucky 72-61 yesterday.
Kentucky, which lost a third straight game for the first time this season, never led. That extended the streak of minutes without a lead to 67:54.
The biggest deficit was 14 points in the first half. UK rallied to within two points twice in the second half. But got no closer.
Kentucky fell to 18-8 overall and 7-5 in the Southeastern Conference. That dropped the Cats into third place in the Eastern Division. One more Florida victory or UK defeat will mathmatically eliminate UK from the race.
