I wish UK had Pitino.

Let the flaming begin.

The Cards have beaten 2 top 15 teams this year, something we haven't done. As bad as it hurts watching them steadily improve while we steadily regress, I must say they are currently more tournament worthy than we are. As for 2H's comment on Rick, I think I'll pass.

Looks like UK may be working on that NIT bid now...

Barring a complete breakdown from Louisville, I think they solidified their spot in the field of 65.

No flame

You are what your record says you are.

That wasUL that passed us on the elevator going to the PENT HOUSEwhile we are headed to the OUT HOUSE???

I watchedUL play last night, for the first time since the UK game. They had a lot of movement in their offense and their post player worked hard for position to get the ball. They looked a lot better than us.

The game has passed Ricky P. by...don't let a couple of Big Least games fool you

I don't want Pitino but I do want to see UK havea coach who is effective at motivating both the players and fans.

:rolleyes:Morals... He's a car salesman for sure but I've never known of any stalking charges against Pitino....

Also, what is with the RIP? Nobody died here.

I love UK BUT I would find it very hard to cheer for them if Pitino came back.......they can keep him......they will make the NCAA this year.....Pitt and Marquette helped them do that

A couple of Big Least games?

Granted, it's not a powerhouse conference (especially with UCONN sucking so bad), but they went into the backyard of the 7th ranked team in the country (Pitt) and beat them like a stepchild; something UK hasn't even come close to doing.

I have no love lost for Pitino -- NONE -- but Louisville has steadily improved this season and I can't honestly say that about our Cats. Let's put it this way; I'm d*mn glad we don't have to play them again this year.

Pittsburgh hasn't beat a Top 25 team all year..Wisconsin, Ok State, and Marquette are the only ranked teams they have played and they didn't win any of them. Overrated is an understatment.

Pittsburgh and UK may make fora great matchup.

UofL and NIT are now a "dead" conversation- boy I sometimes envy the Louisville fans, they at least have some "hope" and play 4 freshmen.

How do they have any "hope" that we dont have, we are basically in the same shape.

Not really, they have momentum and have beat 2 legit Top 25 teams. The selection committee often looks at the last 10 games and in this case, it is the Tale of Two Cities, literally.

If this happens and UK fails to make the tournament, I just wonder if those who like to say NITino will have a similiar nickname for Tubby.

Why is everybody acting like we won't make the tourney, no analyst or anybody has even hinted at us being a bubble team.

If we do not win out, take a look at our last 10 games of the season. There are teams like this every year that do not make it in. It is still somewhat unlikely but very possible.

Where was the original poster after we thumped Louisville this year?

Last year? The year before that?

Seems like the original poster doesn't post unless it's about Louisville. Strange.

Umm..I do. I root for all 5 of our in-state schools. University of Kentucky is my favorite, and I bleed blue. University of Louisville, Eastern Kentucky University, Murray State, and Western Kentucky University are in-state schools that I love to see be successful. One day it would be cool to see Kentucky have as many top schools as Tobacco Road has. And I believe that is not an impossible feat.

Dream on. Kentucky will never have tobacco road. You have to be kidding me. North Carolina has UNC, Duke, NC State, Wake followed by some other pretty good programs-UNC Wilmington, UNC Charlotte, ECU, Appalacian State, Davidson, etc...

I appreciate the optimism but the state of North Carolina is growing at a rapid pace compared to KY. You have Raleigh, Charlotte, Greensboro, Wilmington, Asheville..........Kentucky has some nice programs but would lose out 9 out of 10 years to the state of North Carolina.

I'll add:

Louisville is definitely in the tournament after their win yesterday.

But we beat Louisville. We have a MUCH better resume.

Why would they get in and Kentucky be left out?

Not gonna happen. Flatly illogical.

Much like the few sensible people on both sides of the aisle who voted no to go to the war in Iraq, I have not been a supporter of this team from the beginning. The generations of Tubby-Teams have just continued to get worse. I have called for him to go since 2001 AND NEVER contradicted myself.

By the way, remember what all the Louisville fans said about 10 years ago? "We beat UK and thats all that matters." That's what UK fans are saying now. Pitino has already taken UofL to one Final Four. I see another one next season. I have FUN watching Louisville basketball. The reason I watch basketball is because I enjoy it. Not because I am some mindless zombie who will just take whatever is given to me like a minority of fans everywhere do. Unfortunately, I think all these people come out of the woodwork to defend Ten-Loss-Tubby. Or heck, maybe it should be Twelve-Loss-Tubby, since thats his average now.

Trust me, I love UK. I don't think Tubby is an elite coach. I think some people have that backwards, or else they might see what was really in the best interest of our program that so many dedicated coaches and players worked hard to build. THIS IS KENTUCKY.

So before you insult me on where I've been, I've been a polite, silent fan because I know that nobody wants to hear me complain. This is my one time only statement on the matter, so if you don't like it, just please scroll on by.

Thanks. :D

He was probably at the game. Scott is as true blue as anyone here. I have sit with him at many a UK game. I have camped out for 10 days with him for MM tickets. He made sure my son got to the emergancy room after a camp fire accident. The tickets you used for MM may very well have come from him. He cheers for all the other state schools after UK. If he thought the program was in better shape under Pitino than it is now, he is not alone and his loyalties should not be questioned.
