UCLA went from being the most dominating program in history to being lost in the wilderness for many, many years.
Do you guys think the Cats are now traveling a similar road?

To be honest baldcat I am not sure. We haven't been to the Final Four since 1998. Sometimes coaches just get in a rut when they are at one place for too long. Tubby was great in the beginning but it seems lately we have been goingon a wrong direction. Hopefully we will beat LSU and catch on fire from that game but I have thought those things before and it didn't happen.

That is the course we are on but I believe corrective action will be taken ASAP.

I posted this in another thread. Looking back the last 30 years, these are the teams making the Final Four.
In the last 30 years:
Michigan State-5 Final Fours since 79.
Duke-11 Final Fours since 78
UK-6 Final fours since 78
UNC-10 Final Fours since 77
Indiana-4 Final Fours since 77-won it in 76
UCLA-3 final Fours
Louisville-5 Final Fours
Florida-3 Final Fours since 94
Arkansas-3 Final Fours since 78
LSU-3 Final Fours
UCONN-2 Final Fours
Syracuse-3 Final Fours
Kansas-5 Final Fours
Arizona-3 Final Fours
UNLV-4 Final Fours since 77
UCLA has dropped off big time. Kentucky has twice the Final Fours as UCLA but has out gained the Bruins in National Championships 3 to 2.
Duke and UNC have dominated the last 30 years. The main thing for their dominance is Coach K and Dean Smith. Dean Smith is now working behind the scenes and is very much apart of the decision making.
This is where my worries fall with UK. Who will make the decisions. Maybe UK needs to look at how Kansas has done it since they have gone through similar coaching changes over the years. Kansas has 5.
The sad thing is that since 2000:
UCLA has one with a great chance to agian this year, UNC has two with a great chance to go again this year, Kansas has two with a great chance to go again this year, Florida has two with a great chance to go again this year, Michigan State has 3,Wisconsin has one with a great chance to go again this year, and Maryland has two.
By Conference since 2000 to go to Final Four:
ACC-6
SEC-3
Pac 10-2
Big 10-6
Big 12-5
Big East-2 (Louisville and Marquette were in Conference)
When Wooden retired-UCLA made the FINAL Four in the next year(1976) In 1980 they lost in the Final. So ys they are ahead of UK by one in the Post Wooden era for Final Fours-UK is ahead by one in National Championships. After 1980-it was 1995 when UCLA made it back to the dance. UK is following that and if that continues-Kansas, Duke, and UNC will catch up.
