many of us have been dumbfounded by stevenson's lack of pt. so my insomniac self looked up some stats. below are the stats on the season. not sure if the bama game is included. but, if it wasn't it would only help my case. what i did was look at production in 10 minutes of pt. i combined perry, thomas, and stevenson. stevenson wins in EVERY stat category except assists and to's per 10 minutes. the only reason i can see him not playing more is youth. he is the most athletic post player we have.

perry
565 minutes
177 points
39% shooter
92 rebounds
8 blocks
37 assists
37 turnovers

per 10 minutes= 3.13 pts, 1.6 rbs, .14 blk, .65 assts, .65 to

thomas
470 minutes
60 points
36% shooter
84 rebounds
11 blocks
35 assists
23 turnovers

per 10 minutes= 1.28 pts, 1.8 rbs, .23blk, .76 assts, .48 to

stevenson
287 minutes
89 points
66% shooter
66 rebounds
25 blocks
8 assists
18 turnovers

per 10 minutes= 3.10 pts, 2.3 rbs, .87 blk, .28 assts, .63 to

I think you need "Fun with Numbers", the big book not the little one. Read your own stats again Perry outscores him, clearly, and surprisingly.

Your stats unfortunately don't tell about the offense not clicking and him getting pushed out from under the basket on both D and offense.

There is also the thing about his hands, they aren't particularly soft at this point. He doesn't handle passes well, even though he doesn't lose them all he often either fumbles or drops them, causing his opportunity to be lost, and gets tied up a lot for a guy his size, rarely tying someone else up. I am not overly sold on his being ready at this point in time. I don't mind it when he is in but to me he does not flow with the offense or defense yet. Everybody thinks just the stats are the thing, and well, they are, but realistically, Stevenson doesn't jump us up team wise when he is in. Probably will in the next two years. I'm not seeing it yet.

I would like to see Stevenson in more. He givges the team more energy and I really think he would start to shine with mor eplaying time.

Matt you can look at stats all day long but you claim you don't watch the games anymore nor care to. There are things in the game that you can see that don't show up in the stat sheet. That being said, I do agree with you that Stevenson needs to play more.

Stevenson isn't a savior. He does not have the strength to play major minutes but he does need to play more. I'd like to see him get 15 minutes a game.
