1) Can I win there?

2) Will I have a large fan base and do they support the program?

3) Does the school have a winningbasketball traditon?

4) Will the job pay well?

5) How are the facilities?

6) Will my school get television exposure?

7) Can I recruit there?

8) Will I have a good A.D.?

...and there are more questions. If you were to ask these questions, as a coach, or you were answering them as an A.D., what would you think?

Folks, to think we couldn't attract a good coach is ridiculous. If you have a stomach or headache that won't go away, you do something about it, you don't live with it because "it may get worse" if you take the wrong thing.

There isn't a "holding-room" out there with coaches looking for jobs. Boeing just lost one of its most respected and highest-paid CEO's to the Ford Motor Company. Ford didn't keep the guy they had in charge, as their profits plummet- and they didn't worry about finding his replacement. I'm sure Boeing's Cheif CEO wasn't publicly saying "boy, I wish I had the Ford job". So, enough of the "who would we get crap".

I agree completely. We might not get a Roy Williams, Coach K, or even a Billy D. But there are some excellent coaches out there who dream of winning a title and would see UK as the place they could do it at.

Great coaches have such huge egos that they don't see UK as a place with unrealistic expectations but rather they truly believe they can meet those expectations.

I bet you John Calipari would take this job in a second. And I believe he could win here and win big. He is just one of many that jump to mind.

The answer to all these questions are obviously a resounding yes.....However, I would object vehemently to Calipari on my Cats' sidelines. I neve rliked him and for me I think there are coaches who have integrity and class and don't fight at press conferences that would win just as many games and just as big. remember, his team beats up on its conference because there is no one in it anymore. I say no to Calipari and yes to someone like Gillespie or Donovan or Dennis Felton

I know we can get a good coach. Plain and simple. Tubby HAD been a good coach, but he is not any more.

What scares me, is how many on the list will not want to leave their school.

A Georgia fan once told me on their football board that most in Georgia never thought Tubby would take the program any higher than the Sweet 16, he said they thought he was a "good" coach but never considered him a "great one".

Basically, Tubby is doing for us now about what Georgia usually does (16-12) in our last 28 SEC cames and 9-12 in our last 21 SEC Eastgames. His last year at UGA produced a 24-9 record, about what he does here every year, except more than not, it's 10-losses, hence the name "ten loss tubby". What you see now is what we'll always get with this guy.

We only ask for a coach that has the same passion for basketball as we do. The rest is in place with the top notch facilities in the nation right now between a 23K seat arena to a 35 million dollar pratice facility.

Although he lost to the Ville, Crean runs a lot of good stuff...just a thought

Look, I am not happy with Tubby but talking about a guy on a Georgia board about how most thought he wouldn't take thebasketball programhigher than the sweet 16. Most Georgia fans care about football. Most don't know crap about basketball nor care as long as there football team is winning. Yes they want a good program but they do not demand it like they do in football. This is a reliable source.:shrug:A Georgia football fan. Especially sinceTubby took the team to a Elite 8? I mean his resume reeked of suckiness before he got here.(Sarcasm) Maybe a family member next time would make for a more reliable source.

Tubby is not getting it done but the way you make it out, this was the dumbest hire ever at the time in 97. You would think there would have been more of an out cry in the 90's. You can look back at should haves but Tubby came out like a champ and won a Championship. He definately has regressed but lets not make him out to be some fly by night who some how landed this great job. Its easy to go back and second guess everything. Were there better hires out there. Possibly? No one will ever know.

I think we all may agree that some change must occur. And soon.

And exactly how many of Georgia's coaches have gotten them that far?? And how many were consistently in the NCAA tournament??

You kidding me? Georgia basketball fans would KILL for a coach that got them that far year after year. So...they got the great Jim Harrick and where did he lead them?

Hey, I'm not enamored with what's going on with Kentucky right now, but for a Georgia fan to slam Tubby after what he accomplished there is idiotic.

The question he should ask is "Why the hell have you kept Tubby this long?"
