GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Junior Kentucky guard Jenny Pfeiffer scored a season-high 23 points and the Wildcats picked up their first victory over No. 24 Florida since the 2000 season with an 80-65 win Thursday in the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.

Eleia Roddy notched a double-double with 10 points and 14 rebounds while Jennifer Humphrey pulled down a career-high 19 boards, seven on the offensive end.

Kentucky returns to action Sunday when it travels to Duluth, Ga., to face Georgia Tech in the Russell Athletic Shootout. Tip-off is set for 12:30 p.m. and the game will be carried live on the Big Blue Sports Network (radio) with Neil Price.

My memory isn't all that great but it seems that it's been a very long time since our Ladies won 2 SEC games in a row. I love it!

That's their first win in Gainesville since 2000. And their second year in a row beating a top 25 team.

Having attended most home games and having watched the team develop under DeMoss I predict these kind of wins will become the rule rather than the exception in the not so distant future. The product being put on the floor now compared to pre-DeMoss is like night & day. Do yourself a favor, if you haven't been to a game, and get out to one soon! It's really entertaining basketball.

Yeah the Tenn game on the 26th of Jan at Rupp should be a good one.we are going to try and get up there for that one

I remember being at last yr's game here in Lexington and Florida handled them pretty easily...good to see UK reverse the tide!

And wasn't it good to see over 13,500 in Rupp to see the Ladies do it to the Lady Vols!!! I think that crowd tells us something about this team and the progress of the last couple of years. The UT game was the first I've seen of the ladies this year and I was highly impressed with the speed of some of our players---seemed all we'd need to stand toe to toe regularly is some more rebounding and inside "heft".
