If they get hot they very well could, whether or not they do is the question.

They are a good team. But in the rigors of the tournament, the top seeds will eventually be able to shut down their one dimensional offense. You can't rely on an offense of 3 pointers and expect to win it all.

Also, I don't think they are good enough defensively to win enough games in a row against the topteams in the tourney.

If you're looking for an improbable, I hate to say it may be Louisville. They are putting a complete package together.

Be wary of Maryland. I have considered them even before they beat UNC today

But the true cinderella? Winthrop.

you can't be this year's George Mason or a cinderella when you're ranked in the top 20. They very well may make a good run but it won't be like George Mason's run which was totally unexpected. Everyone thought they would be one and out in the tourney, Vandy could easily win a few games.

I was just about to post the same thing. I think that anytime you have two players like Byars and Foster, you can make a run in the tournament but it would not be close to the suprise of George Mason last year.

Not likely.

Vandy will inevitably run into a team that doesn't play nearly as stupid as UK and one that protects the ball better too.

If I were the teams beating the Cats right now I wouldn't read too much into it. IMO it's kind of like the teams that beat Georgia in football this past season; yeah, a win over a marquis name, buta namethat's fallen a considerable distance from their perennial lofty perch. Heck, the way things are going we might not even show up as "quality wins" on a team's NCAA tournament resume'.

My prediction: we have 5 games remaining (2 reg. season, 2 SEC tourney & 1 NCAA tourney game), and we'll finish the season 21-12, for yet another double-digit loss "effort". Might as well try to enjoy them before we have to slip into Chicago Cubs fans mode -- again -- and say"We'll get 'em next year".

Vandy is a 6 seed and has been ranked during the season. That's a far cry from George Mason.

Vandy has 2 guys who will be in the NBA.

No team from the SEC will ever be a "George Mason."
