And everyone wonders why UK fans have a bad reputation? It's because of IDIOTS like that.

Shooting an exploding firecracker into the face of Tubby Smith sure gives us a good reputation.

Got to shift the focus off of Tubby and our disintegrating season somehow. Lets dig up a redneck goober and try to cloud the issue. Every program in America has fans like this, ourr fan base is bigger so it seems like we have more.

I sent to The Herald and Courier Journal. This just seemed to be breaking news material for them;)

I kind of agree with his message, despite all the personal berating. Teflon Turd? That's unnecessary.

It's completely possible and totally acceptable to voice your displeasure without delving into personal attacks.

Just my two cents.

Where is the racist comments? What is the basis for this statement? If you don't agree with him refute his comments instead of attaching the person. I would hazard to guess however that you can't do that. Why, because the state of this program is beyond any reasonable argument to the contrary.

If anything should make any of you want to stop being a fan you really don't need to go any further than this season and last. You sure the hell don't have to blame this guy. Talk about embarrassment, lets talk getting blown out on national TV. More than once I might add.

How dare anyone question what constitutes a fan. I dare say that no one would take the time to post or place a video on goggle if they were not passionate about the program. So if you think OTS is good for this program great. That is your prerogative and I respect your right to argue this point. You must respect others who don't agree with you, however. This program is nothing without the Big Blue Nation, there is not any player, coach, or member of the UKAD that matters one tiny % compared to all of us. This program dies the day we turn on each other. I could give a big rats *** what the rest of the nation thinks of us "UK fans". You know what, when this aberration is over and we go back to kicking the hell out of everyone else they can take their opinions back home and watch us take the national championship.

True, the guy does make himself look like an idiot, but unfortunately most of the things he's saying are true. Of course, I don't videotape myself screaming and post it on Google, but I do find myself thinking most of the same things.

Apparently the speaking the truth makes one a moron.

Most of the comments on this thread haveno basis. Simpleminded mudslinging at best.

What makes any of you any brighter or better fans?

Fans like some of you aren't doing us any favors and when Tubby makeshis exit you can leave your keys on the counter because I'm sure you all wouldn't want tobe associated with Kentucky Basketball any other way.

You're better than that, bluegrassking. Some of the best posts concerning the state of our basketball program have come from you. I'm not sure why you feel the need to associate with crap like that video.

It's not "speaking the truth" that makes one a moron. It's how they decide to say certain things that they reveal themselves to be a moron.

I know what you're saying, but for some reason I just don't find to to be as easy as that.

Husband, father-to-be, engineer, UK basketball fan. That's my life in a nutshell. Being a fan of Kentucky basketball is a HUGE part of who I am. So yes, the losses eat at me. Not sure they "possess" me or not, but they certainly drag me down. Just as if things in my work life were less-than-peachy.

I believe everybody here has enough perspective to not let this "game" affect them the same as, say, problems in their family lives would. But, WCN isn't a message board for our family lives. It's here so those of us who are fanatical about the Cats can discuss the season, the players, the wins, the losses, etc.

There's plenty of perspective in our non-UK lives. We don't need it in our sporting lives, though.

I care as much as anyone here.

But it is, after all, basketball.

Personal insults and elementary school rhetoric coming from adults (ostensibly), especially regarding a game that is played by kids, is disturbing.

Blast the coach. Boycott the team. Say what you want about Tubby's coaching ability or lack thereof.

But when the insults start flying, then it is, as others on this thread have said, probably a time to step back and think about what it is we're actually doing here.

We're following a SPORTS TEAM.

It's certainly not easy.

My father, a great, life-long UK fan, used to just quit watching games when things weren't going well and there didn't look like a lot of hope. He would go work on some project to get his mind off the game. I used to think his interest level had dropped. It hadn't. He knew himself well enough to know that he needed to back off or it was going to affect him in ways that he didn't want it to.

I can't believe that the guy who did the video hasn't let his Wildcat issues interfere with the rest of his life. If he is a grandpa, he's not giving his children and grandchildren much to be proud of.

You guys and gals are a great bunch!! I try to never post out of anger and as such have had little opportunity to post as of late. I would never write anything that would hurt the kids that play for us. Having said this I guess I vented on some of the posters yesterday, at least for me as such. I just don't want to see our fan base so fragmented and I know once we are on top again we can only sustain the greatest program as a unified front. A vicarious existence through ups and downs of mainly teenage young men can be detrimental to your Psyche. Make you do strange things. I swore that off when Laettner ruined my vacation in Key West. We are not made up of OTS supporters and non supporters, we are fans of the greatest program in the world.

The video is from YouTube/Google. Thus the YouTube reference.

Losses bother us all. That's why we're all here. I have a book to edit, papers to grade, and yet I'm on a message board venting about the Kentucky Wildcats. Obviously, I would say I'm more than a "casual fan."

But I would say that if a sports team's losses bother a person to the extent that he insults those that are involved, especially the kids as the guy on this video does, then he is taking it a bit too seriously.

Even though this is Kentucky basketball, there is a line that should not be crossed.

I think Katman sometimes goes too far in his videos, but, it's all in fun. Remember, he was a big a tubbyfan as there was until just one year ago.

At least, he is not trashing the players. He leaves that to the coach.
