one thing these guys have got to learn is that when the defender is draped over Morris, they've got to go ahead and throw the inlet pass, and get the foul call.
Morris is getting a lot of respect from the officials right now, and we need to use this to our advantage.
Randolph is not Woo, he is not Shagari.
He is a dominant force and he needs to be fully utilized.
Throw him the ball. he will catch it, and he'll draw the foul.
Plus, he's hitting ALL HIS FREE THROWS.

"Free throw shooting MUCH better today."
Understatement of the month. Had to be said though. :)
There is no way this is the same Morris from last year... Some kind of brain transplant happened over the summer or somthing. Maybe that's why Morris sat out in the fall.....because he was recovering from the transplant, and the NCAA junk was a cover-up. ;)

Tubby should've called that time-out after the 3pointer went in.
he lost a good 5 seconds.
(Maybe it was a 5 second play he was calling ;))
Oh, well.
Let's kick the snot out of them in the second half.
It doesn't pain me that they came back, from the sense that they hit two amazing three's.
Good shots.

Frankly, Alabama is LUCKY. They made six or seven shots that had no business going in. Davidson hit about 3 bank shots after Morris blocked him; Steele made that circus shot in the lane; Felix and Steele closed out the half with wild threes.
If UK can keep up the intensity, we should beat this team going away.
Littlemeyer
01-14-2006, 01:02 PM
Agreed about the t.o. If you're gonna call it, call it with like 10 sec. left, not 5. But even then, when you get the ball inbounds, WHY does Rondo just stand there for a good second-and-a-half to 2 seconds. Time is precious. Oh well. Lets go get 'em in the second half.
Athens2005
01-14-2006, 01:04 PM
You're right Jones. We played good defense the entire half, they just hit some good shots.
Unfortunately, we only played well offensively the last 10-12 minutes, so we didn't score enough to separate ourselves (which is typical),
Can we put together 20 good minutes of offense?

I am not a big fan of when Tubby calls a timeout at the end of the 1st half, which he does often. It seems like we never get a good shot out of it.

Agree..Agree. Alabama did hit some tough shots, but why is it that every team we play hit tough shots?
If we can keep up the energy, force a few more TO's, then I agree that we should strecth it out. However, we must start the half strong, we can't let them get their confidence....

Cat's must of thought 10-12 mins worth of offense was enough...didn't come out ready to play in the 2nd Half and Alabama has taken it to them.
Morris isn't playing D because he doesn't want to foul...we have gone back to no movement on offense...
Hope we can pull one out of the Hat or we are 0-2 in conference

Nothing to be afraid of.
Teams smell blood.
We're a pretty nice team with Morris on the court, so teams will continue to attack him, pick up ticky tack fouls, and live for the times when he's not on the court.
Once he has 3 fouls, attack, attack, attack.
WE've gotta hit our shots when he's on the court and make the most of his presence.
Like Rondo just did. ;)

Joneslab...the old Kentucky teams used to do exactly what you said....to bad we aren't those teams anymore.....

Rick, It's understood that there's a lot of basketball left; unfortunately, we need about 10 more wins, and we only have 6 games left at home.
We have lost 2 straight at home, and must play one of the teams that beat us on the road.
Also, we probably play at least 2 more teams at home that are better than the two teams that beat us.
And, just about every team we play on the road will be as good, or better (at home), as these two teams were in our own building.
We need about 10 more wins, and no one is sure where they're are going to come from.

Yeah, sucks to be a Colts fan now, too.
