Derek Caracter,a highly touted prospect since attending the Nike All-American Camp as an 8th grader, and Scout's #13 rated player, has verballed to your worst nightmare. Once Clark signs, Louisville will have thee #1 front court in the nation...along with one of the best back courts.Just imagine if Palacios stayed one final year. You could go ahead and FedEx the trophy right now thank you. What's Tubby waiting on??? I know you have a stellar class coming in and all. What is Wright waiting for? Yeah, I am a lock for UK but let me go check out that Final Four team from last season that is reeling in top class after top class....no offense Stubby. It's just that you can't seem to keep anybody on your team happy and everybody wants to get the hell out. I mean, Morris has absolutely NO other option but to return...Crawford wishes he had never stepped foot on campus but like Morris had no other option, and your best player wishes he could have played at UofL but had to settle for seconds after he was pushed aside for Telfair. Now he just hangs out with all the UofL players every weekend asking what it was like to go to a Final Four.

Brandon must not want to be part of team turmoil part III. Who can blame him.

That now gives us Smith (4 star) Sosa (4 star) and Caracter (5 star)...Earl Clark...come on down....your the next 5 star recruit on Pitino's Championship RUN!!!

A lot of speculation as to why Caracter has fallen so far in the recruiting rankings. This was a kid who was the #1 or #2 OVERALL recruit as a sophomore; now he's not even in the top 5 in his position according to some publications.

Solid pick-up for the Cards...not great. NOWHERE close to what a B. Wright would mean to a team.

Wright is a good player, but I was no more impressed with him than I was DC. DC can do it all and if the game gets ruff, who you want the skinny kid or BEEF? He played really well in all of his games against Oden. Pitino will get the most out of him which could be scary..

Have you not paid attention over the last few months. It's called an age limit. He doesn't have the option to head for the NBA draft right now.

But if he could have, the dirty birds would (once again) come in second place.

I still want an explanation to how the kid was rated #1 overall as a high school sophmore, but after his junior season he's not even in the top 30 according to some.

That would worry me a bit if I were a Cards fan. To me, that points to one thing: HYPE. He was hyped at the Nike Camp as an eigth grader because of his unbelievable size...and he hasn't grown an inch since. And all the other big men have caught up with him (Rivals has him as the #5 power forward in the class). Hmmm.

Jones, would you take him...? Hell yes and any college program would.

This is really reaching here. First of all who has him outside the top 30. Secondly since when is a top 30 rated player considered bad? Thirdly, it's funny how you look long and hard for his lowest possible rating. I will go by Hoop Scoop which has him rated the #6 player in the nation...or Scout, which has him at #13. Rivals has him at #25. What no name source do you have that rates him outside the top 30?

Yeah I am pretty concerned here. I think we should throw him back in the pool. What were we thinking.

I was referring to Rivals. At one point, Caracter was around 30-35 there.

And hoopscoop has him #6? Shocking! I wouldn't be dogging my sources if the first "guru" you mention is Clark Francis. Remember: this is the same guy who said Churchill Odia was better than Rajon Rondo. Odia was the third string point guard at Xavier last season, BTW.

I don't deny that Caracter is a solid pick-up. I just don't think he's the type of player--like Jamal Mashburn, who he's already being compared to--who you can say is going to stamp UofL a ticket to the FF as soon as he steps on campus. I just don't think he's that good.

Ummm, this isn't the UofL recruiting board, we don't care who you signed, chances are, your recruits won't even see the court anyhow.
