Thank you, UK players, for your tremendous effort today.
Too, I will share that posts that really bother me are ones saying that the players have QUIT on their coach, Coach Smith.:(I used to see the same kind of inaccurate posts from folks who wanted Coach Brooks to be fired. :(
Mr. Meeks nicely posted to the contrary, sharing how these players support their coach and speaking of their hopes for the future.Players themselves repeatedly speak of their still having high hopes for the season. Well, anyone with an open mind could look at these Cats outthere today andsee that saying the Cats havequit is totally insupportableand issimply invalid criticism against Coach Smith. Fans may have quit on their coach, but the players themselves have not done that. I just hope I don't read those words again.
Again, THANK YOU, Cats. :)GO CATS!

One thing I can't get some people to understand is that this team is close and they have great off the court chemisty. It does not always translate on the court but these guys get along well and pull for each other. Today was a good example of good on the court chemistry.

Good point, KapitalCat. Too, watching their behavior on the bench shows how they are pulling for one another. Then today, as you say, they played more as a TEAM on the court, which was most helpful, in addition to their intensity. GO CATS!

It never happened. Simply an emotional response to the February losses or I could blame someone's sick imagination.
These kids play as hard as any UK team. So much so they look quite spent at times. Congrats Cats! Beat the poop out of those Bulldogs!!!

Poop?? I stole that one from The Waterboy.

They may seem lost at times, but for the most part our players have given great effort this season. Let's keep cheering them on! :thumbup

I've said all year long there is absolutely no quit in these Cats. How many times have they come back on teams. You don't make a comeback if you have quit in your heart.
GO BIG BLUE!!!

Great post poodoo. I love you girl.
I had a ball at the game. Once Morris flew down the court to get back on defense. I went nuts. I screamed, "who is that man and what have you done with Randolph?" He was aggressive and I was so impressed. I was impressed with the whole team but I have been pretty critical of Morris so I got to give him his due.

Exactly, bleedblue79. Too, legitimate criticism is one thing. Criticism that is not supported by actual evidence is something else. Yes, I felt the players quit a bit against Memphis in Maui, but that was the only time I have felt that way. From what I had read, the narrow loss to UCLA and the long trip and jet lag, etc. probably had something to do with that. I read that the guys just did not have their legs at the end, FWIW. We saw players actually quit against Kansas and Indiana last season, but we have not seen that this season, in my opinion. Too, again, they themselves have not quit on their coach as some have charged, either.
GO BIG BLUE!!!

YES! Anytime Randolph does that, we SHOULD go nuts!
Seriously, when Randolph plays that aggressively and with that much energy, we are a different team. Too, he absolutely deserve the credit that you have justly given. I wouldn't feel too guilty about being critical of his now always putting forth that much energy, though, as Randolph himself admits that it's hard for him to bring it "night in and night out."
I'mhappy that you and the others are having a ball! :DAs I had often posted, how I would LOVE to be there myself! I'm counting on all of you to pull the Cats through, though. I think they are IN GOOD HANDS. :DGO CATS!

:). Too, I barely feel like smiling right now. However, I just so feel for our Cats, who once again played their hearts out. Yes, they let themselves get down again in the second half, but how they fought back! They still DID NOT QUIT.
May it be the same for all us fans. Personally, all I can do now is look forward to the Big Dance. UK players, hang in there, and plenty of us fans are doing the same. GO CATS!

How did the paradigm become giving up on Tubby is giving up on Kentucky basketball? I am never, ever giving up Kentucky basketball. It is in my blood and will be until the day I die. However it has become painfully clear that Tubby is not the answer for Kentucky to get back to the Glory Road. I only wish he would do the honorable thing and quietly retire and thank Kentucky for the chance of a lifetime.
