What seed will we have if we play in the championship game on Sunday?

Where would losing tommorow put us?

I think it would put us at a #7 or #8

I think losing on Saturday would put us at a solid #7, hopefully a #6.

I voted 7, but would probably say 6 if weplay and beatVandy on Saturday - leapfrogging them as the 3rd highest SEC seed behind UF and UT.

I believe we can still get as high as a 6 or maybe 5 with a tournament championship. The committee tends to reward that handsomely

1994. UK wins the tournament, gets a 3-seed, Arkansas lost in the semis still got a 1. UK lost to 6 Marquette, Arkansas won the title.

I think a 6/7 is the highest UK can get and the 5 would only come if its Vandy and Florida that UK beats back-to-back.

I agree. If we get that shot, that would really be the best scenario. So would you rather play the likes of LSU or any of the others from that side in the championship, or do you you root to play Florida on Sunday if we make it?

7-8 gonna have to beat a ranked team to move up, JMO. I picked 7 btw

When you win in the tourney, I don't think it makes much difference if a team is ranked. If you win the SEC tourney, you are beating good teams. If we win the SEC there absolutely no way we end up with a 7 or 8 seed. Nice try though.

We have played a great schedule, we have beat some good teams, including a now ranked UL at UL, badly. I think if we show that we are playing well we will get a good seed. Lose today andI think we are in the dreaded 8-9 game. We might slip into a 7 seed but I doubt it. We have to win today. If we lose 5 in a row to Vandy I might have to shoot someone.

6 is my vote if we lose a close one.

A win on Sunday would get us a 5 perhaps. Yes the SEC Champs should get a 5.

I would agree with this... I just hope we are debating this on Sunday after the game.

Who the heck voted for 9 or higher? Does someone want to explain their rationale on that one?

I chose the 5 seeding. I just don't think that our overall season performance deserves any better consideration, unless we somehow pull out a SEC championship.

Three weeks ago my opinion was that if UK went 1-3 the last 4 regular season games and lost in the first round of the SEC, we'd be a 10 seed or so.

If we play on Sunday, easily a 7 seed.

Yep. If we play on Sunday, we are a 7 seed. If we win, we are a 5 or 6 seed.

I bleed as blue as anyone and a say a 9. We are no better than a 9. One decent game against Alabama does not take back the bone head games at the end of the season. We still have yet to beat a ranked team. I hope we can go in with whatever seed we get and run the whole thing (I will support until we get beat), but logically we have a mediocre tem at best. There are alot of teams that will be in the 10-16 seeds that can kick our *** if we don't play as we did against Alabama which was a rarity. I still say look for an early exit in the tourn.

I hope I am proven incorrect.

What is the rationale for a 6?

Read the post again. It says, If UK is playing on Sunday, where would we be seeded. I think most would agree that if we loose today, our seed diminishes, as we have (as you so accuratley projected) only beaten Alabama at this point.

I think the only way we get a 6 is if we win sunday. Just playing sunday like the poll ask's I think we are a 7. A win today will put us at an 8 and a loss is a 9. I honestly think anything else is wishful thinking at this point.

I agree. If we loose today, we are flirting with a dangerous seed.

If UK wins the SEC Tourney they will probably be a 6. They will also end up in the top 25. 6 times four equal 24. Thats the rationality of it. Will it happen? Maybe, but yes we could very well lose today and a 6 seed is bye-bye. Hello 8-9 seed, with a 7 seed being a very very outside shot.

If we win the SEC tourney over Florida, UK will be a 4 seed imo. If we win it over anyone else, a 5 seed.

If we win the SEC, Tubby could win the Governer's race.

Last year Syracuse was a bubble team before the Big East tourney. I believe they were given a 5 seed after their run through Madison Square Garden. A bit generous of the selection committee, IMO, but it shows there is a precedent.
