It looks like Loserville is gonna take this one, maybe they'll go down in the next round.
Go Cats for tomorrow!

Unbelievable that the refs did not call Sosa for traveling on the play that tied the game at the end of regulation. Jodie Meeks gets called for carrying the ball this afternoon and Sosa fumbles the ball at the top of the key and scores the basket with no call.

It was very very close on the no call on the steps but given the game circumstances I don't believe to many zebra's would have blown the whistle.
Reference the clock not starting, pretty obvious to me UL got a gift.Len Elmore really had me shaking my head when he stated, "the clock wouldn't have made a difference, he stillgot it off". Didn't look that way to mebut geeez, I will take it. Gutty play by a Sosa.
On an unrelated note, Spring Ball in a few weeks, look foward to chatting with theWildCat Faithful pigskin fans.

I watched all of the uL game too. I thought uL had the better athletes but should have lost the game. They earned some respect from me as I hadn't seen them since early in the season. That being said I still want them to lose every game. I am just immature that way.:lol:They were on the verge of folding during that 18-0 run where they went 8:40 without scoring and they had that deer in the headlights look. But they gathered their blowing in the wind puptents and grinded it out. True post-season way of winning close ball games. They earned their props too. But they still did not impress me like the Cats did yesterday. JMHO.

PS - TWill is a star in the making. A very good recruit for Rick. Kinda their version of Jodie sorta. He is quick on quick and can stroke from the outside too and finish in traffic. My kinda player. Too many props for the birds. I must now go and wash my mouth out with soap.

I root for UL if they aren't playing UK just as I root for Eastern, Western, Morehead and etc just because they are KY schools. Was doing this before Pitino and will do so after he leaves. I always want (good)publicity for our state.

Man, yesterday I was reliving those old late '70's and early '80's when I followed them with their talented teams of athletes andI really liked Denny. It seems like another lifetime ago with all of the water under the bridge andwith the legislaturepressuring we playeach other. They shouldn't have done that. Both schools have too much pride and tradition to co-exist as one after the bitterness of one school losingand one school winning each year. I know that Denny lobbied hard for the game back then. For some reason he felt he had something to prove. He was bigtime on Wooden's staff. He shouldn't have felt that way and said the things he did to get the series started. He was an outsider who didn't understand. I too remember their players running their mouths after beating us in OT of the region finals the year or so before we were made to start playing each other. It was theturning point for me. I have too much pride and loyalty to support a teamand fans who hate us and call us names with such passion. I didn't like Denny's cockiness then and I didn't like their players cockiness theneither. As far as I am concerned they in essence told me to choose and there wasn't no choice to it.

No matter if he did walk,WVU can't let someone go from one end to the other without any defensive pressure. WVU can only blame themselves for very poor defense,IMO.

Pitino has had problems with Pitt in the past and I expect it to continue today. Should be a good game though if UL has anything left.

Their players must of thought the clock started on time and he would run out of it. Well it didn't happen. They just flat quit on the play.

I saw that, too. However, the clock started about 1 tenth late. Sosa still got the ball off at about the .3 or .4 mark.

While I most always agree with you, surveyor, this time I disagree in regard to how late the clock started. They played it over in slow motion several times, and Sosa had essentially made it to half court before the clock moved at all. That is surely more than a tenth of a second late.
Regardless, the West Virginia players are responsible for the lossbecause of theirnot being ready defensively. To Louisville's credit, too, they hadquicklythrown the ball in bounds, whichI think that may have been why the clockkeeper had been slow to react.
FWIW, I personally saw Louisville as being fortunate on the play. Pitino's not calling a timeoutending up working, but the clock's starting on time or the West Virginia players' playing some defense would probably have resulted in a different ending. To his credit, Sosa is a freshman who came through at crunch time, for sure. GO CATS!

I got to see the replay a few times and each time it seemed that it was a tenth late in starting. Sosa was still short of half-court when it started. Even if it was 2 tenths late Sosa still got the ball off with some to spare.
FWIR, Sosa got the ball about 10-15 feet inbounds, immediately turned and sped up court. Thus, he only had to cover about 75 feet or so.
I do agree the clock keeper was likely caught off guard by how quick UofL inbounded the ball.
Ultimately, WVA screwed up by letting him have free run of the court.

We will just have to agree to disagree on how much time elapse. Sosa was almost to midcourt. To me, it seems that Sosa would have to beunbelievably fastto getthere that fast. FWIW, Mr. Poodoo esimated it at a bit over a second. That's all any of uscan do, though, is estimate it, of course. The West Virginia players obviously estimated more time to have elasped than actually elapsed, judged on their not bothering to play defense. At least we agree that the timekeeper was probably caught off guard :), and it really doesn't matter at all, anyway.
I just read R&B's post that he, too, thought his Louisville teamgot a gift. :DAgain, it doesn't matter, though. I think most of us think MSU got a "gift" toward with our lane violation today. Both games go in the win columns for Louisville and MSU, gift or not. I just know that I would love for the Cats to get the win in one of these games of this nature. That does matter to me, so much. :(GO CATS!

Heck Gun, I had season tickets the year Griff won his NCAA championship. Bought them off one of the players parents, sat with a bunch of the players folks all year. Partied all night on BT Road. Did that stupid cards cheer in the Outlook Inn.
That NCAA game began to draw a line in the sand and started to force a choice. I lost my afinity for them a long time ago.
