Man it is so weird. Its like dajavu or however you spell it. Seeing Rick in Rupp playing the old KY style of play. Its indeed a great game to watch. The only thing missing is the blue and white jersey's. Well anyway its a real good game.........

Most entertaining game of the tourney so far. the intensity and the crowd are awsome. Nice to see Rupp rocking and unlike some here i like it when Kentucky teams do well in the tourney.

Indeed it has.
Interestingly, this ref crew is calling it much closer than the Ohio State / Xavier crew.

Sosa was awesome for most of the game...and then looked like a freshman down the stretch.
I hate that for them. Louisville is one fun team to watch now.
I don't want to think about what they're going to be like next year when they play us...:nada:

And we get on Tubby for last shot game calling.
A 30 footer down one with 5 seconds on the clock. Brilliant.
Down goes UL at "home". I couldn't be happier. Now go back home Rick.

Amazing isn't it. The kid plays the game ofnhis life for 39 minutes and pkays like a freshman the last one. I knew when he missed those free throws he would end up taking the last shot. He stopped thinking like a point guard and started thinking like a New York City player. He wanted to be the hero instead of getting the ball to someone with a better shot to keep him from being the goat

I hate to say it, but if Louisville returns everybody next year, they have a good shot at getting to the FF.

Very exciting game...probably the best I've seen so far during this tournament. (Not counting Kentucky's, of course.)
Gillispie is a heck of a coach. He is going to the "Elite" status one way or the other: He'll either take a job at an established elite, or he'll keep his current job and take Texas A&M to the Elite.
Sosa. Wow. 15-15....but then, 0-2.
Look out for Louisville, though. :nada:

How in the world do you slam Sosa for ANYTHING when he just played a game like that?
The kid was off the hook with 31 points, 15 of 17 from the line. Absolutely incredible!
There is no way that play was called for Sosa to take the long three at the end. He simply had to get the shot off with enough time remaining to be able to foul on the rebound or have a chance put it back in. There was no one in the lane available to pass to.
I don't get knocking Sosa here at all. A freshman down the stretch? Please! He was a stud all day. Unfortunately, no one can play a perfect game, and his only mistakes showed at the end instead of being buried in the game.
Incredible performance by Sosa! :thumbup

especially after Sosa had driven down the lane and get a foul every time, you would think they would have tried that option first.

Not knocking Sosa at all. I wish we had a PG that could drive and shoot like him.
Just knocking the infallible Little Ricky P. and trying to show that it isn't always the coach's fault when a kid attempts to be a hero by himself when he doesn't have to be. The difference is this kid is a Frosh...ours are Juniors that do it.
UL is immediate Top 10 next season with that lineup. Definite FF contender. I just hope they find a way to screw it up.

I agree it is not always the coaches fault if a freshman tries to win a game on his own but Ricky P. has time to teach his kid. Tubby is running out of time with the junior class.
Just stating the obvious.

Apparently the play was for Williams to come off a double screen for about a 15 footer but A&M cut it off. Not sure what the second option was but Sosa wanted to be the hero, I figured he'd take the last shot

I am feeling the love for the Cards here today.
They lose a close game at home for their TENTH LOSS, in the 2nd round and everyone is proud of them. Especailly proud after that great NIT year.
Should we lose tomorrow (which is likely) but keep it close, then we will all be back clamoring for a new coach and saying we suck.
Got to love basketball in the Bluegrass.

Hey sugar, you're missing the obvious...
They're Louisville, and we're Kentucky!
And, Rick hasn't hit the 10 year mark at UL yet, but he has indeed got them to one final four.
Plus, I'm in no way emotionally invested in the University of Louisville program! :ggrin:

Naw...I didn't miss anything. And I am not proposing anything. Just saying how upside down things are. Still ready for changes here. There's definitely no justification as to where we are really.
As far as that little trip to the FF for Ricky...imagine how much worse Smith would get treated if we went to the NITbefore and aftera FF and then lost in the 2nd round the following year with 10 losses. He would need police protection. LOL

Bob, I think the "love" for UofL is based on a team that improved as the year went on. For a team that was supposed to be a year away, they accounted well for themselves. It's a young team. Ours is a team that it's core of talent is in the upper class and more was expected of them this year.
Louisville exceeded expectations and if Kentucky loses tomorrow, failed to reach theirs.

Actually, I should have not posted anything and gone back to my hole. I guess my post was misconstrued. I am not defending our team or Smith at all.Really has nothing to do with UK.
UL only exceeded the fan's expectations, not Pitino's. He heralded this team very early, then hedged on them when they faltered only to get back on the bandwagon late. Typical Pitino. At his presser today he called this "one of my greatest seasons." (And we are accused of accepting mediocrity)
I am not blind to the fact that Rick did a very fine job getting his kids to improve. His team has a great future....on paper.
Congrats to UL for a splendid year. Hopefully, we will kicktheir *** again in December and hopefullythey will fail miseralbly at every opportunity withtheir coachin tow.

It doesn't have to be racehorse bball to be exciting. If our offense matched our offense our team would be exciting. If we had motion, set screens, made passes that had a purpose and played with intensity, we would have an entertaining team.

I have to agree with you bleedblue79. I tried to be a good sport and went over to the Louisville board on Rivals and congratulated them on a great game and how much I supported them against Texas A & M. That was a BIG mistake. The Card fans were in no mood for any congratulating from UK fans. They said that the only interest that they had left in the NCAA tournament was theirBig East bretheren Georgetown and Pittsburgh.
Someone made a post gloating over UL's loss and several posts said it was no doubt from a pitiful and pathetic UK fan. They have no love for us even when we try to be nice. So from now on they won't get any sympathy or admiration from me. I think they take their obnoxious behavior from their evil genius Athletic Director Tom Jurich whose philosophy is "screw everybody else before they get the chance to screw you. "

No it is just "tit for tat" I guess. I really was impressed with the way Louisville played and I wanted to congratulate them on what I thought was a fine game against a team that was a much higher seed. They didn't want any congratulating from me or from any other UK fan it seemed to me. So I will just keep my distance from their board and their fans in the future. My intentions were good and any idiot that read my post could see that. I flattered them more than I normally do most colleges' fan boards. They were not appreciative and now I regret having gone over there period. They will get no more good words from me. You can mark that one down.
