Anyone else see the Loserville fan holding up the "Go Texas Western" sign behind Digger/Bilas and ? during College Game Day at Cheetum Hall before UL/UConn game? Sad. Even with their team playing the number 3 team in the country on a national stage they still can't get over the fact that they ARE and ALWAYS WILL BE Lil' Brudder. Of course, we all know that UK fans are the only ones who are obsessive and arrogant and whatever...

That doesn't surprise me. Some UL fans stoop to new lows all the time.

I made the same post on the Rivalry forum, Their big night but they are more proud we lost a game 40 years ago...Thats their mentality.

And they wonder why there is so much animosity between the programs. Sheesh!

Heck, it just means that some kids at UL are just like some kids at UK. Nothing more, nothing less. Just kids playing games.

They just can't come to grips with the fact that they are nothing more, and will never be anything more, than the city college of Lousiville.

Perpetual little brudders.

I bet the UCONN loss really hurt Pitino. After saying that a portion of the UK fans need a doctor traveling with them this morning on ESPN's game day he must have stated four or five times "we have to beat UCONN" but he didn't. Too bad Rick I know you hate Jim Calhoun but he got you anyway. So did UK earlier in the season. As for us at least we won today and Florida, Duke and Pittsburgh all lost. I can easily see us making the NCAA tournament now but some others like UL had better worry.

Rooting for Texas Western is a whole lot more "witty" than that RP sign. The more I think about it, the funnier it seems... I still can't stand Louisville though.

Evidentally some of the UL fans just like living in the past as do some of the UK fans or they would have NEVER had that Pitino sign in Rupp Arena.

Bottom line, Louisville lost another game at Freedom Hall. Signs don't put points on the scoreboard. Basketball players do and UConn has basketball players and UL has sign carriers.

Rick Pitino reminds me of my neighbors pet Black Bear. The one who loves to jump on the trampoline.

I did a double-take when I saw the sign. I was dumb founded at first that a team who is about to play arguably the best team in the nation, on their home court, desperate for a win.can only think about UK. It's a sad statement on their part.

pretty funny coming from the same fan base that gave us..... "hey Garcia I shot your brother"that was the lowest sign in the history of all signsin sports at any level ever....

I would hope that noone really had a sign that said that. If they did I would agree with what you said. Sports are suppose to be fun and I believe us fans need to realize that these young men are really just normal people like ourselves trying to make the best of their lives. It is truly sad when people stoop so low as to attack these kids on a personal level. As a ball player I never liked Garcia but I was truly saddened when he lost his brother and can't imagine how that must have felt.

When was such a sign ever put up by UK fans? I find that very hard to believe Rick. I am not calling you a liar but I do indeed find what you said very hard to believe. I know it didn't happen this year if it ever happened at all.?

In the UK - UL rivalry, my favorite sign of all time was held up by a fan in Rick's Rupp Arena debut as the Cards' coach. It said "Hey Joanne, we never liked you either!"

Even Pitino laughed about that one.

BTW, I don't believe there was ever a sign about Garcia's brother, not at UK. I never saw it or heard anything about it.

Sounds like revisionist history to me. Did you work on the storyline for Glory Road?

If that sign had been around it would have been all over these forums last year and, well, it wasn't.

It's wasn't a sign, it was a Tshirt a kid was wearing in the kids section(eruption zone sp?) when we played there that year, a week after Hector was murdered. I was thereand it was also mentioned on Tony Cruise's show the following monday. It made me sad for the human race...

ok, so let me make sure I understand, it's ok for your fans to do something totally moronic and classlesslike making fun of amurdered brother, but when other teams fansmake fun of ayour school in amovie, they areclassless...I think all this sign business came up after your own fan held up the now famous "Bring Pitino Back" sign a few games ago.

I will agree with you on one thing Rick the fan who held up the sign saying "bring Pitino back" was moronic, idiotic, and totally classless. As for the sign about Garcia's brother I just don't believe that ever happened.:question

I agree Pitino is in Louisville where he belongs. I think we are going to make the NCAA tournament this year but I don't thinkUL will and ESPN and other sports organizations and publications agree with me. UL just keeps on losing. While UL played UCONN pretty well for awhile UCONN was beginning to pull away and if the game hadn't ended when it did UL would have lost 25 to 30 points. At one time Rick Pitino and Jim Calhoun were big rivals but now Rick couldn't hold Calhoun's jock strap.

I believe in good sportsmanship.Therenever should have beenshirt like the one you mentioned. A murderin one's family is indeed sad. Lots of things happen in the sporting area anymore that have no place there. People are taunted about things they can't help or thingsthat are untrue. I don't like it. But the people you are yelling at are not the people that wore the shirt. My shirt has KENTUCKY in big letters.
