The Cards hung pretty tough. It was a lot better game than I thought it would be. I don't have a problem with acknowledging that. For their sake, I hope it gives them a bit of confidence for the rest of the Big East schedule.

They would have won if someone had stepped up and nailed some threes.
Padgett was very impressive.

I agree............I always thought Pitino teams lived and died by the 3 pointer..........not today...........they hit what 2 of 20..............

I agree but IMO the game was never in question. UConn always demonstrated control and except for a couple of possessions they never lost their poise. They could basically score at will.
I'm sure that Dean would've made a difference but IMO it would've only been in the gap on the scoreboard but not in their overall record.

UL never quit..they still have hope, and with dean back and refreshed maybe they can turn it around.
but, within 5 minutes it was clear that uconn had such a superior advantage in talent. the game was never in doubt..uconn has athletes everywhere. they played like crap and still won easily...end the season now, and lets see the duke/uconn title game.

Just for the record, I agree that the game was never really in doubt, although the Cards did make it look interesting a time or two when UConn had some defensive lapses. Frankly, it wouldn't have surprised me to see them win by 30 or more. They just have too many bodies and too much talent coming off the bench.

Thanks very much guys. That means a whole hell of a lot. We gave them a good fight. My ears were literally ringing when we left the place. I have never in my life heard Freedom Hall that loud before. I am very proud of our guys. We could not hit the open three's and it cost us. Thank you for the kind words.
I felt like UCONN toyed with us though. It just seemed that they played when they needed to and always hit the big shots at the right time. They are definitely pretty damn tough!

I did watch most of the game, I think Padgett is really good. and I agree some threes would have made this game really interesting. Cards nevere quit, They were overmatched just like everyone else who plays Uconn...But givin the fact their on a losing streak, They still played hard, never quit and actually got to about the 6 minute mark and the game was still undecided. They kept it closer than I thought they would.

Thanks Angus. I think we would have had a shot with Dean. I remember looking at my wife when UCONN came out and saying how HUGE they are. Men amongst boys. We gave our boys an appreciative cheer as they left the court. I thought we were going to lose by 20+ so this was a decent showing.
Congrats on your win yesterday. In all seriousness, good teams find ways to win and Rondo is one helleva clutch player. I think that is his second game winner. He is a warrior and the cats will only get better from here. Once they mesh Morris into the system, the cats will be very tough to beat. It's a matter of time.

with this team you just know as your sitting there watching, that they will find away to lose instead of like last years team find a way to win. It's painful sometimes. At least they gave a good effort the entire game unlike St. Johns.

if you guys seen my post over in the thread about the over/under, you know i thought a 10-15 point loss would be huge for the freshmen. i look for them to hit their stride very soon with or without dean.

The importance of upper classmen in college basketball cannot be overstated. Young players are prone to do dumb things. These veteran players always seem to come through; time and again last year, it was like Garcia and O'Bannon and Myles just wouldn't let UofL lose. This year, you all just don't have anyone who can play that role.
