In the old American Basketball Association, players did not foul out of a game.If a player committeda sixth personal foul in a game, the playercouldremain in the game, but anysubsequent fouls by thatplayer was treated like a technical foul: the other team gottwo free throws and also retainedpossession of the ball after the free throws.
Has a rule like that been used elsewhere since the days of the ABA?
Also, the ABA had a 3 point basket long before the NBA or NCAA; did anyone else use that between the inception of the ABA and its adoption by the NBA and NCAA?
